*Myles gets off work early and runs into his daughter's Gracie's best friend, finding out from his daughter's friend Alex that Grace was at the Ice rank.*

*Myles walks in the Ice rank in time to see Grace do a triple axle.*

*Grace like always is so caught up in skating that she doesn't notice Myles in till he gets on the Ice.*

Grace: Hi daddy.

Myles: Grace what are you doing?

Grace: Skating.

Myles: I thought we talked about this.

Grace: I know we did dad but....

Myles: No buts! I told you I didn't want you skating at all!

Grace: It's in my blood dad!

Myles: The last person who said that got killed!

Grace: Mom died that night because she lost a lot of blood after she busted her head!

Myles: WHEN SHE WAS SKATING!!!

Grace: I'm not going to get hurt!

Myles: Can you guarantee that?!

Grace: No.

Myles: Promise me you will not get back on that Ice, ever!

Grace: Dad!

Myles: Promise!

Grace: Ok I promise dad.

*Grace says, thinking "Fine. I'll just skate and compete behind his back.*

*They hug.*

*Myles is happy she promised him. Gracie always keeps her promises.*

Myles: Thank you baby. I love you Gracie.

Grace: I love you too.

*As the weeks go by Grace continues to skate and compete behind Myles back in till one day he finds out from her best friend.*

Myles: Alex what are you doing here?

Alex: It's Grace Sir. She's hurt.

Myles: What happened? Where is she?

Alex: She's in Detroit.

Myles: Detroit! What the heck is she doing in Detroit?!

Alex: She went for Nationals.

Myles: National.... She skating?!

Alex: Yes sir.

*They catch the next flight to Detroit.*

*At the hospital in Grace's room.*

*Myles and Alex come in.*

Grace: Dad I'm sorry.

Myles: Are you ok?

Kate: She'll be fine.

Myles: Who the heck are you?!

Grace: Dad this is my coach Kate McKay.

Myles: You promised!

Grace: I know. I'm sorry. I just had to skate!

Myles: And you got hurt just like your mother! I know this would happen! Why did you think I made you promise?! I already lost her once to lose you too would be like losing your mother all over again!

Grace: I'm sorry dad. What I did was stupid! I'm stupid!

Myles: No your not! Thank God you're ok.

Grace: Dad. I'm really sorry.

Myles: I know.

*They hug.*

*After much conversation and debate Myles realizes that Grace was mention to be a Ice skater so he lets her skates knowing God will watch out for Grace.*
