"No no no no no!"
Tasha gripped the chair as a contraction hit.
"Mmmph."
The pain was horrible, worse than she had imagined.
She gathered some towels and warm water.
"Ohh…"
She felt a rush of water run down her leg.
"Okay, Zapata, Breathe."
She reminded herself.
"Reade's going to be surprised when he gets home."
She said, smiling.
"Mmmmghh."
She groaned.
"Oh it burns, it burns, it burns!"
She screamed, clutching the pillow to her left.
She paused and took a breath.
The mirror showed an almond shaped head just barely visible in between her legs.
"Come on baby, we can do this."
She bore down, pushing as hard as she could.
The head inched its way out slowly.
Eventually, the head eased out.
Tasha fingered the top of the head and smiled.
"Ughhhh!"
With all of her energy left, Tasha pushed as hard as she possibly could, and the body slid out.
A wail began and she quickly picked up the baby.
"Hello, Caroline!"
She said, putting the baby on her chest and laying back.
