She's supposed to know how to deal with the sight of seeing a loved one fall back, and hit the ground with a sickening splat. She's supposed to understand what it feels like to see a body, unmoving, and blood spurting from a much too large wound. She's supposed to react immediately, forcing herself to run over and cry. She's supposed to lift them onto her shoulders and take them somewhere safe to possibly bring them back. So they can't leave her.

But she can't this time.

She doesn't know how to deal with the sight of Kurosaki-kun be left to fall as Ulquiorra lets him go. She doesn't understand what it feels like to see Kurosaki-kun's body, motionless, blood slipping from the fatal wound to her fingernails. She doesn't react immediately, she can't process this cold, hard fact that Kurosaki-kun is probably leaving her. She doesn't carry Kurosaki-kun off, as the Fourth Espada is giving her a dangerous look.

But she runs over anyway. But she cries anyway. But she clings to his shihakushou helplessly anyway. Because she's supposed to.

finis.
