Undying Love Chapter 3
Sarah sat up quickly and tried to calm Jareth down. He was breathing heavily and clutching a crystal ball in his right hand. Through the crystal ball Sarah could see the outskirts of the goblin city. People were running around and pounding on the castle gates. Guards were trying to hold back the growing crowd of confused creatures.
"Sarah! They are in chaos because they do not know what to do about me being ill, you must do something"! The king screamed again only this time it was a bit more raspy and almost silent. Sarah placed a hand on his blanket covered shoulder.
"I will go out to the gate and tell them that I am caring for you". She said with a small smile. Just as Jareth was about to answer, a Goblin guard burst through the door of his bedchamber. The small creature was taken aback by the sight of Jareth in his sickly state. He apprehensively approached the bed and opened his wrinkled mouth to speak.
"Erm... Your Majesty the kingdom has nearly broken into complete chaos. What do you suggest we do"? The king looked at Sarah asking her to answer by the look in his eyes. She turned to the goblin and stood up off of Jareth's bed.
"Take me to the city gate with you". She replied coming a bit closer to the goblin. He nodded and took her smooth hand in his rough one and led her to her designated place. When she arrived, Sarah could hardly believe what she saw. Goblins were running around screaming and cursing in an ancient language that Sarah could not comprehend.
"People of Jareth! Take heed to my words and don't question me". She said standing at the top of some stone steps. The Goblins turned their heads, surprised at this sudden disruption to their disorder. One very large goblin took his place at Sarah's side and twirled a crystal ball as some of the goblins started to fight again.
