Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to either Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Jumanji. I read dragonserpent18's crossover CaTCF/Jumanji story and I felt inspired to write a similar story of my own, but in this one, it will be based around the 2017 film, Welcome to the Jungle. I would be kind of cool to see Charlie and his friends turn into the avatars from the video game. So go ahead and read and send my a review or PM.

Dear Augustus/Mike/Violet/Veruca,

I'm aware that it's been a long while since the Golden Ticket contest 5 years ago. I'm writing to you all because I want to say that if you've all found a way to fix yourselves from your respective incidents, than I am happy for you. I really am. I also wanted to invite each of you back to the factory just to give you all a second chance of seeing the magnificent place itself. If you don't want to, that's perfectly fine with me. It's just that I miss having you guys around. I've never had any friends like you guys before. I don't blame you for having bad memories of the factory, but keep in mind that it never hurts to face your fears.

Sincerely yours,
Charlie Bucket

It has, indeed, been 5 years since Charlie and the other five lucky Golden Ticket winner children had a grand tour of Willy Wonka's fabulous chocolate factory. Needless to say, each of the kids have been through a lot as Charlie could tell. Despite the negativity he received from them, such as Augustus and Violet, he could never hold a grudge against them. Now that Charlie was the new heir to the factory, he was destined to take over the place once Mr. Wonka's time came. Though, there was still some things that took some getting used to like the glass elevator and the boat that sails the chocolate river. Jumping back to the children, their conditions took time deteriorating and they went through some psychological personality changes. Augustus has been keeping more tabs on his weight and health, avoiding consumption of fatty products, including chocolate, and becoming more active than ever. Veruca understood that she just can't have everything she wants or take unfair advantage of her parents. Violet lost touch with her own ego, deciding that she's letting her competitive spirit get the better of her and her blue skin has been fading back to its original color. Mike hasn't been watching television ever since his visit to the factory and has been getting out more, even playing sports.

It wasn't until half a month later did Charlie sent his letters to everyone that they all finally arrived to the factory, allowing Charlie to have a gander at how much they had changed since he last saw them. Augustus had now lost a couple pounds and was wearing a wife-beater and shorts as well as a sweatband, indicating that he's getting more fit nowadays. Mike was adorned in a football shirt with a "34" on the front, meaning he was now on the football team back at his school. Violet had ditched her old sky blue tracksuit long ago and was now wearing her own attire, which consisted of a purple hoodie over a light blue polo shirt and a pair of denim jeans. Veruca decided to take on a more relatively-positive look. There's not much to say about it, except she looked she came from a boarding school.

"I'm glad to see you all came!" Charlie cheered as he waded over to greet them. "Augustus, you're looking much thinner now."

"Oh, ja." nodded the German boy. "I have been cutting back on zhe sweets and zhe chocolate."

"Mike, I see that you're back to your original size and shape. That's good."

"Totally." Mike agreed, giving him a pat on the arm. "I realized how I've wasted my life just sitting in front of a TV screen and watching endless shows all day. I joined the football team."

"Excellent!" smiled Charlie.

"Not much has changed last time I was here." Veruca responded, taking a good look around. "So you're the new heir, are you not?"

"I am. So how have you been?" Charlie asked her.

"Well, I had a serious reality check when I got back home. I sold all my pets to someone who would truly love them and I realized how much of a brat I've been." Veruca explained, not comfortable with those memories.

"Well, it's good that you're a new person now." Charlie said to her before getting a good look at Violet. "Wow, Violet, your skin is finally back to normal."

"Yep." Violet said with a nod. "The side effects to the gum wore off and I kinda went through more important changes then that. I might've given away all the trophies I won in the past. I've never even chewed a piece of gum ever since I turned into a blueberry."

"Glad that we're all here together." Mike replied with joy.

And so, Charlie brought them all inside of the factory and gave them a small tour of the place. At first, he was hesitant about running them through the same rooms where they got eliminated, but they insisted that they wanted to see them again, saying that they've gotten over it. After that nostalgia trip around the place, Charlie brought them to a room that he recently discovered that was filled with many things that Mr. Wonka had collected. Many untold things like the model of a snozzwanger infant and other possible things to have a look at. Mike found one such item that caught his eye and his interest. It picked it up and brushed the dust off of it. It seemed familiar, but something about it made it look new.

"Hey, guys. Check out what I found." Mike said, coming over to show it to them.

"What is it?" asked Charlie.

"It sort of looks like one of those old-school, vintage game consoles from the 60s." explained Mike as he and the kids looked at it. The console had only five controllers connected to it. "Maybe it's Nintendo or Atari, I don't know. There's no label or anything."

Then they noticed that there was a video game cartridge already in it, but it wasn't something that Mike was familiar with it.

"'Jumanji'" Charlie read with confusion. "Never heard of it."

"We should totally play it." suggested Mike with an excited smile. "I've played a lot of games like this. Just for old time's sake."

"I….never played video games before." stammered Veruca nervously.

"It'll be fun, I promise." Violet assured her.

Mike helped Charlie hook up the ancient console to a television. Even though Mike had evolved beyond the TV at this point, he figured it won't hurt to at least play a game on it at least once in a while. Once it was plugged in and turned on, the screen lit up and it just went right to the game, not even starting off with the companies that manufactured it. On the screen, there were words appearing on a black circle. Charlie read off the words as they went along…

A game for those who seek to find
A way to leave their world behind

Welcome to Jumanji

"I'm already getting a back feeling about zhis." Augustus replied, feeling edgy about the game.

"Well, this kind of looks interesting already." said Violet.

Afterwards, the game cut to the section where the players must choose their avatars. Since there were five controllers, there were only five playable characters to choose from.

Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough - Pilot, Rascal

Franklin "Mouse" Finbar - Zoology Expert, Weapons

Dr. Smolder Bravestone - Archeologist, Explorer

Prof. Shelly Oberon - Cartographer, Curvy Genius

Ruby Roundhouse - Killer of Men

"Hmm, Seaplane McDonough. Pilot and a rebel. Sounds like my kind of guy." Mike said with intrigue as he picked him.

"Franklin "Moose" Finbar?" read Augustus as the fond on the words was somewhat difficult for him to discern from his personal perspective. "I bet he's a big fellow."

After Augustus selected him as his avatar, Charlie was looking for his when he finally found on that met his interest.

"Dr. Smolder Bravestone. I guess that wouldn't hurt." He shrugged and selected that with his controller.

"What's this one? Prof. Shelly Oberon, curvy genius?" asked Veruca before smiling. "She sounds like a lovely woman. I suppose I'll go with her."

"Then I guess I'm Ruby Roundhouse." Violet said as she was the last one to pick her avatar.

"It's zhe first time I've played a video game like this." Augustus said, the sinking feeling in his gut now vanished and long forgotten.

As soon as everyone picked their avatars for the game, the screen then shifted to a group of African animals before the big game logo appeared.

"Welcome to Jumanji." announced a British voice on the TV before Charlie pressed start to begin the game.

Suddenly, there came the strange and ominous thumping of native drums all around the room. The kids all jerked their heads all around to see where it was coming from before the strange noise stopped abruptly, leaving absolute silence. Now things were getting a little bit strange.

"This is odd." Veruca remarked with a look mirroring everyone else's.

"Is something supposed to happen?" asked Violet.

Suddenly the game console started to violently shake and seem to short-circuit and spark. Charlie rushed to put out the sparks and try to disable the thing. When nothing works, he finally pulled the plug on the television, shutting off voth the console and the TV all at once. Everyone panted, believing that whatever just occurred before them was over.

"What was that?" asked Charlie.

"It's an old console. It'll happen-" Mike couldn't even finish his sentence when a powerful mystic wave of green energy blasted out of the console, knocking everyone back a bit, startling them all out of their wits. They all took a moment to collect their thoughts when they noticed something going on with Charlie.

"Charlie, your hands!" Violet screamed.

"What's going on?!" Mike shouted at the top of his lungs.

Charlie looked at his hands to discover, to his horror, that they were disintegrating into a mist of glowing green until he disappeared into the vortex the console had created. Violet was suffering the same fate as did Veruca, Augustus and finally Mike. Soon everyone was caught into the mysterious green vortex which then immediately disappeared and the dead silence was back again.
