The First Meeting
The motorbike roared around a corner, the two men intent on reaching their destination. They pulled up in front of a tall, dark building, bathed in shadows. To the rest of the world it appeared abandoned, but the men ignored the "Keep Out" hanging on the fences and slipped in through a side door. The journey had only taken ten minutes, but the pair was still in a rush, excited to see why they had been summoned. They arrived at a door with a crack of light beneath it and the soft murmur of voices could be heard. With a quick glance at each other, they pushed the door open and peered into the room.
Inside the room was a group of people, all around the same age, with questioning looks and accompanied by a slightly tense atmosphere. As the pair sidled into the room, broad smiles spread across their faces as they recognised some of the occupants. Just to the right of the door, sat Frank Longbottom, a friend from school and next to him, his girlfriend Alice Chapman, also a friend from school. The two men pulled up chairs beside them and spoke in hushed voices.
"Hey, guys. How are you?"
"Fine. You?" replied Frank.
"Can't complain I suppose. Got any idea what this is about. I don't really recognise anybody else. Except, wait, is that Arnold Peasegood over by the tall bloke with the ginger beard?"
"I think so. We have no clue why we're here I either. We were hoping you had an idea."
"Nope, sorry. Guess we'll just have to wait, as was intended I suppose."
Suddenly a silence swept the room as the creaking of a door could be heard in the distance. The group waited with baited breath to see who would appear; the door opened painfully slowly as a tall figure emerged.
"I see you have all arrived on time, I was expecting at least two of you to be late if I'm honest."
"If you meant us, we just got here, we had to speed and you're ten minutes late. So your expectations weren't far off," said the first man, with a laugh in his voice.
"Well luckily for you then I was held up Mr. Potter."
"Lucky indeed professor, we would have been worried you would have missed us," added the second man quickly.
"Well then Mr. Black, fortune seems to be shining upon us." With that ripples of nervous laughter spread about the room.
Dumbledore spoke up through the noise "Now, you're probably all wondering why you're hereā¦"
"You bet we're wondering."
"Positively bursting with curiosity."
"Thank you James, Sirius. As I was saying, you are all here because we would like you to join our resistance group, The Order of the Phoenix."
