"Come on."I said, grabbing his hand and dragging him out onto the back porch. He didn't say a word of protest. "Do know how much of a distraction you are?"I asked him, frustrated.
"Oh I am the distraction?"he asked incredulously. "Yes you."I replied contemptuously. "You and your stupid shiny hair, your sparkling eyes, and your oh so kissable lips and-"
"Do you want to meet them firsthand?"he asked, his voice low.
"What?"I squeaked. Instead of repeating his question like I , or any normal person, would have done he kissed me.
His lips were soft and warm against mine but then he pulled away and I whimpered.
With his forehead resting against mine he murmured "Do you know how much of a distraction you are? With your beautiful blue eyes, your silky brown hair, and your soft pale skin." He emphasized his point by trailing a hand through my hair and down to my waist. His touch left trails of fire across the bare skin of my shoulder and my arms.
I shivered as the breeze began once again ruffling the hem of my dress.
"Here."he said, shrugging off his leather jacket and handing it to me. I took it and put it on. As the fabric enveloped me I was hit with the scent of cologne. It wasn't the cheap nasty brand but something more soft yet masculine.
"Derek, what are we going to do?"I asked him. "Shh."he said and pulled me into his arms. "Nothing. We are going to do nothing."
"Derek!"I wailed, annoyed at his complete lack of seriousness.
"Calm down, Princess. I'm pretty sure Nora already knows anyways."he said."Really?"I asked, surprised. My mom hadn't mentioned anything to me.
As if reading my thoughts Derek said"She's probably waiting for the right time." I bit my lip and said"Maybe."
Tilting my chin up so I was looking into his beautiful green eyes Derek said"Come on, cheer up! We are together and that's all that matters." "Your right."I said, taking his hand in mine.
"Casey?"Derek said, leaning down so his mouth was right by my ear. "Hmm?"I asked, to entranced in his presence to sum up a proper response. "I love you."he whispered. "I love you too."I said, kissing his cheek tenderly.
"Come on."he said, grabbing my hand leading me to where we would face our parents, the rest of our family, and the world.
