Random little oneshot. I apologize in advance for any mistakes.

She could go anywhere. To the stars, to the end of the galaxy, there was no limit to where she could travel.

So why did she only want to go back to one place?

Of course, common sense told her that it could be impossible to find, the way it moved about randomly. She's tried, many times, all without success. She kept telling herself that once more wouldn't hurt, one more time trying to find it. To find him. But his ability to travel was far more advanced than hers. It could take ages.

I'm willing to wait. She wanted to go back, to lay eyes on him again. He'd promised her something. She wanted that promise kept.

Oh, the stories she could tell him, and vice versa. She'd been what felt like everywhere, from one end of the galaxy to the other. She'd seen the creatures that caused him grief and played with those he enjoyed.

They could almost be considered the same.

She was speeding across the stars, heading for the planet that he favored most, above which where she'd met him. She halted above the Earth, memories flooding back to her. The Hosts, the cyborg, the crashing ship.

Her own death.

Falling had been the worst bit. She'd reached out to him, gaze caressing his poor face, already so full of pain, twisted in desperation. He'd wanted her alive, too.

She wished she could've stayed so. The promise would be easier to fulfill, then.

The ship came into sight. She felt a huge burst of happiness and joy fill her being. Without a second wasted, she dashed to the small doors and threw herself against them.

The noise had been enough to alert him. He opened the door and she bolted in, afraid that if she didn't he'd run off without her again.

He spun around now, looking, astonished, at her form. She almost cried, drinking in every familiar detail about his person. His slim frame, his chiseled features, his marvelous hair.

And his eyes. Such gorgeous, pained eyes. She'd loved them before and she loved them now.

He swallowed hard and reached out a hand, as if not quite believing she was there.

"Astrid?"

If she'd been capable of hugging him, she would've. She wanted to hold onto him and never let go. She would stay with him forever. He'd promised her adventures.

And she was going to have them.

I'm here, Doctor.
