I think that this scene should happen after the apocalypse. Just without Sam in hell (well...), Cas in heaven and Dean living the Apple Pie Life. Can't have everything can we? Enjoy!

Dean cracked his beer with a content sigh and leaned back into the sand, his fingers making dunes that cut through the sand like miniature mountains. 'This is the life' he smiled.

Sam looked over at his older brother, himself supping on an ice cold beer, a smile on his face. They had been tracking a pretty nasty spirit that had threatened a young family. They had spent three days chasing it round the small village, before catching it in the basement of aforementioned family and trying (somewhat successfully) to exorcise it. Cas had turned up just in time, seconds before the spirit stuck a poker into his chest.

Said angel was currently sat stiffly between the two brothers, as the waves lapped gently at they're feet. He still had his trench coat on, even though the evening was stifling warm. He didn't seem to mind though; he had a small smile on his face and his bright blue eyes shone in the evening light. Dean pushed himself up and studied his angel. 'Cas, aren't you too hot in that coat?' Castiel turned to look at him.

'No Dean, I am content' he reassured the hunter. He turned back to the sea that stretched infinitely in front of them. Dean stared at him a littler longer, at who he liked to call The Enigma That Is Castiel. With a wide smile that he didn't even now what was for, he gripped Cas by the shoulder and pulled him down, so they were lying side by side next to each other. Cas turned his head with a confused look on his face, but when Dean's face gave no answers he turned his eyes skywards and smiled broadly.

Sam smiled; it was about time that his brother and the angel started showing their affection for each other; it was getting a bit tiring watching them tiptoe around each other. It had taken months for them to tell Sam that they were seeing each other, although he had known weeks before. He watched the two of them talk lightly and respectfully turned away when they shared a slow kiss.

Watching the waves break against the sand he inched forwards and stoked the small fire they had got going in order to cook the sausages that they had planned to have for dinner. He turned back to the kissing pair and found Dean fiddling with Cas's tie, pulling it teasingly off his neck. 'Oi!' he called 'Not yet. Eat first' he called with a grin.

'All right Sam' sighed Dean, smoothing down Castiel's collar with an affectionate grin. The angel smiled shyly at Sam before shrugging off his trenchcoat, folding and laying it gently on the ground.

Sam grinned back and stuck one sausage on three sticks and handing them to his companions. They sat in a comfortable silence while their sausages sizzled and spat and watched the sunset together.

After ten minutes their sausages had cooked and they ate, Dean letting out a pained hiss when he found his was too hot. Cas had shot a worried glanced in his direction before being seemingly satisfied that Dean fine.

Finally the sun had set completely, plunging them into a blanket of darkness and harsh breezes. Castiel pulled his trenchcoat back on and pulled it around him, letting his breath out in a misty river flowing out to sea.

Dean smiled, putting his hand on his angels, catching his eye and smiling, in complete happiness. Truth be told, Dean couldn't be happier; he had his brother, his angel and the world was still in one piece. He had life, love and plenty of hunting to be getting on with. He turned and caught Sam's eye, winking at him before leaning back again, still gripping Castiel's hand and slowly falling asleep.

Life truly was a beach.

There. My first fluffy piece. Please tell me what you think as I'm not at all confident with writing romance fics.

I hope you enjoyed it.
