Two words that ruined Paul's life:

Yoko. Ono.

He met her when he wouldn't give her any of his manuscripts for her stupid book, but he said maybe John would. Well, he did. Then while Cynthia was in Greece, he gave her even more when those two made love. And that broke Paul's heart terribly. He loved his John so much, and wouldn't lose him that easily. He angrily started playing one of their old songs.

"It's not the way you smile

That touched my heart

It's not the way you kiss

That tears me apart

Uh oh, many, many, many, nights go by

I sit alone at home and I cry over you

What can I do?

Can't help myself

Cause baby it's you

Baby it's you

You should hear what they say about you

Cheat, cheat

They say, they say you never, never, ever been true

Cheat, cheat

Whoa oh, it doesn't matter what they say

I know I'm gonna love you any old way

What can I do? Then it's true

Don't want nobody, nobody

'Cause baby it's you

Baby it's you

Whoa oh, it doesn't matter what they say

I know I'm gonna love you any old way

What can I do, when it's true?

Don't want nobody, nobody

'Cause baby it's you

Baby it's you

Don't leave me all alone..."

"That feels like it was so long ago..." John mused, startling Paul. "Y-yeah...but it's only been five years..."

"Really? Interesting." He eyed his friend, who wasn't making eye contact. "Something bothering you?"

"Actually, yes, something is bothering me." He took a deep breath. "You and freaking Yoko. Why would you sleep with her? Not only do you have a wife, none of us even like her. No girlfriends at the studio is the rule, but here she is. And the worst part, even though it is very selfish of me, is knowing I have absolutely no chance to be with you now. You're dense, aren't you? Remember all those times I flirted with you? I meant it all. I don't want a bird, I just want my John. I want him to be mine and no one else's. But that's really rude and selfish of me, so whatever. Be with her, I don't care anymore..."

"Paul-"

"Yeah yeah, I know you hate me now."

"No...no I don't. I can't hate you, Macca. I had no idea, I'm so sorry I hurt you...I guess I was right." Paul's head jerked up. "A-about what?"

"Me liking you. I guess I wanted to make you jealous, but I really shouldn't have done it like that. Forgive me?" John waited. "Ugh, you never change, Lennon. But of course, I love you so much."

"I love you too."
