They say that legendary pokemon only reveal themselves willingly to those with a pure heart. They also say that trainers who see one that their careers as trainers will be blessed with fortune and greatness.
This thought was one of the many rushing through my head as I rode my bike from my home in Twinleaf Town to Professor Rowan's lab in Sandgem Town. I pedaled as fast as I can. The excitement was overwhelming. I was about to get my first pokemon. Unlike most of my friends, I already knew what starter I was going to get, I've known for years now. Piplup. It may not be that great at the start but when one evolves into an Empoleon it is the strongest of the three.
As soon as Professor Rowan gave me the pokeball that contained my new friend, I released him. He looked at me and instantly jumped up into my arms. After a while placed him on the floor and looked at him and decided I would nickname him after my friend who drowned last year. "Max," I said, "That's it, that's your new name okay?." He smiled and chirped in delight. "Okay then! Max, are you ready for an adventure?" He got so excited by this that he fell over. Laughing I picked him up and carried him outside.
This little guy is amazing. He can already do water gun, though it isn't all that powerfull. And for some reason he loves to sit on the pooch made by my hood.
Then I here something. There are two pokemon fighting. Powerful ones. I rush towards the noises with Max nearly falling out of my hood on more than one occasion.
When I'm around 100m away there is an explosion and I get off my feet. Still interested in who was battling, I slowly moved closer to the scene.
I can't believe my eyes. It's Cresselia. And Darkrai. Fighting. I crouch behind some bushes to so that they don't see me and I watch silently.
After 5 minutes of watching them battle Darkrai blasts Cresselia away with a ridiculously powerful dark pulse attack. I watch in aw as Darkrai turns around. And faces me.
Did he see me? Did he sense my presence? Did his fight with Cresselia anger him. It is rumoured that Darkrai causes an eternal nightmare that is impossible to wake up from unless you are blessed by Cresselia. I look through the bushes to see if it's still there. I see its eyes staring at me. I jump back in horror. Its eyes are starting to glow. Hypnosis. I turn my head away from him but it's to late. I'm going to spend eternity in unstoppable pain.
As I start to close my eyes I see Max. I look straight into his tiny little eyes. "I'm sorry" I say, "now run away back to Professor Rowan and tell him what has happened.
It's to late. Darkrai killed him right in front of me. I am now fighting with all my strength to stay awake. Before I finally give in to its hypnosis I have just enough energy to say, "why?" As my I close I swear I saw his eyes change from anger to guilt.
Now I am forever in pain. Never will I be able to find a way to stop this torture.
