A Chance Meeting
Eleven year old Lan Hikari was walking home silently fuming. His NetNavi/Twin Brother said, "Calm down Lan or you'll end up running into someone." Lan was still fuming when he bumped into a boy about fourteen wearing a blue jacket, yellow tank top, brown cargo pants, and orange shoes. He also wore white aviator goggles on his head. He had burgundy hair and brown eyes. Lan groaned and said, "Sorry about that." MegaMan said, "I told you to calm down." The boy led Lad over to a café and the got a drink of coffee or soda in Lan's case. The boy said, "So what's bothering you?"
Lan replied, "It's this dude Chaud Blaze. He acts cold and uncaring around people and he only sees me as a rival. I want to be friends but he is constantly at odds with me." The burgundy haired boy smiled and said, "I understand where you're coming from kid. My best friend Ken Ichijouji was like that for a long time as well. It takes time to get someone like them to be a little more open to being friends. Invite him to hang out together. Spend a few moments talking to him. So long as you let him know he has a friend who wouldn't turn his back on him. People like Ken and Chaud normally have an issue in their past they refuse to let go of. My advice is take things slowly and make sure you can provide emotional support for Chaud when he needs it."
Lan about an hour later thanked the boy. "Oh hey before I forget. What's your name?" The boy smiled, "I'm Davis Motomiya. My family and I just moved here from Odaiba." Davis wrote something down on a scrap of paper. "My cell phone number and e-mail address. If you need help I'll come."
Lan saw Chaud walking out of a store looking depressed. "Hey Chaud what's wrong?" Chaud saw Lan and replied, "Oh, hi Lan. It's nothing just my dad's new girlfriend is ranting." Lan asked, "You sure there isn't anything wrong? I want to help you but I can't if you won't let me." Chaud smiled and his blue eyes softened a bit, "It's the anniversary of my mother's death. It always makes me upset. No matter what I try I can't forget her." Lan smiled, "So don't. I'm sure your mom would want you to remember how much she loved you. But at the same time don't close off the rest of the world. Your dad loves you. ProtoMan cares about you. I care about you too Chaud. I want to be your friend, but I worry when something is bothering you." Chaud smiled for once and said, "Thanks Lan. I'm glad I have a friend like you."
Davis walked around DenTech City when he saw his seventeen year old sister Jun walk up. "Hey Davis, you were gone long. What kept you?" Davis smiled as a two foot tall blue dragon with red eyes walked up and cuddled into his side. "I was getting used to the new city and I think I made a new friend. After the others aside from a few of the digidestineds in Odaiba betrayed me I needed one." Jun smiled, "That's great. What's your friend's name?" "Lan Hikari."
