Fang paced the living room of the empty house. He had left the party early, giving him peace and quiet. Fang knew what he had to do, and he had to do it now, before he changed his mind. Deep down Fang knew he had to it, there was no way around the facts. He sighed heavily and reached for the old laptop.

A few minutes later Fang sighed again and looked at his work. The letter seemed right, truthful yet heartfelt at the same time. While the letter took some editing here and there Fang was happy with the way things ended up. Everything he had written seemed to be true to him.

Things would be better without him. Though he knew that if he left Max would be torn to pieces. Dylan would just have to pick up all the broken Max and her back together. No matter how much fang hated Dylan he knew it was for the best, mostly. Fang chuckled as he reread his letter at the slight humor he threw in here and there. He hoped Max would feel a little better with the humor thrown in. Since it was one of the many things she loved about him so very much.

Fang loved Max more than anything else in the world. So he knew that he would have to force himself out of the house before the rest of the flock returned. He wouldn't be able to bear seeing her one more time.

Fang could almost imagine what Max would look like when she returned to an empty Fang-less house and a goodbye note on her bed. Max's strong warm eyes would be filled to the brim with tears. Her voice would shake as she read the not out loud to ensure that it was a reality.

Fang stopped. The thought of how upset and torn Max would be was killing him. So he folded up the note and gently placed in on Max's bed. Fang walked around the house and said his goodbyes to everything in it.

He stepped outside and flung his unwilling body into the air then snapped his wings out soaring into the sky.

As he flew further and further away fro the house they had all called home Fang seemed to feel part of himself breakaway. As he continued to fly his vision became blurry and liquid swept across his cheek. Fang wiped his face to find himself crying. Fang, crying.

He hoped more than anything that Max would not be too mad at him and understand his decision to leave. The he smiled, thinking about the last thing he said. He knew Max would do it and he would wait. Fang would wait forever if he had to just to see Max again! He would do anything she needed him to do when ever she needed it to be done.

Fang flapped his wings hard picking up speed and sped through the sky. Over the clouds and under them too. He was doing this for Max so he would pull through with it.

So off Fang went. Away from the house he called home. Away from Iggy, the best blind cook he had ever met. Actually, the only blind cook he had ever met! Away from Gazzy. The kid knew more about bombs and explosives than the experts did! Away from Nudge and her nonstop talking and fashion sense. Someday the kid would be a model. A flying model at that! Away from Angel who, at times, could be crazy, but Fang still loved her like a little sister. Who wouldn't love Angle anyway? She was the cutest little kid!

Most importantly, Fang was going to be away from Max, the love of his life. Max the absolute bane of his existences. He would never find another girl quite like her. The only one he ever truly loved and the only one who could tear him to pieces for leaving. Yet he still loved her and she loved him back with all her heart.
