Crash and Burn
Chapter One
Hope you can figure out who I'm talking about. =) Should be pretty obvious. Hope it's not too OOC.
I'm going to expand it into a series. Keeping each chapter under 250 words. My own challenge to myself! =)
I absolutely do not own Percy Jackson. Wish I did though. Rick Riordan is one amazing man.
She's always been the strong one, but sometimes she has to let it go.
She hates those girls who cry about everything, but sometimes she has to let it out. Because she knows what will happen if she doesn't.
She will burn out, eventually. All her bad feelings will be trapped up inside her and she will lose it completely. And she can't afford risking that.
There are people who need her, people who need her guidance. That's what keeps her going. He's what keeps her going. She knows he can't save the world without her.
So sometimes, just when she thinks she can't take it anymore, she goes down to the beach and sits in the sand and lets it all come out.
And she feels the tears rush down her cheeks and watches her vision blur and just relishes how good it feels. To not be the strong one, even if just for a minute.
But then she dries her eyes. And spends a few minutes regaining composure. Because she doesn't want to scare people. Because that's what they'll be if they see her like this. Because she's the strong one.
But what they don't know is that she's dangerously close to falling. If she doesn't let it out, she knows she'll crash and burn.
