Disclaimer: HP isn't mine, the dream that I had inspiring this is mine however. I just have such a goofy smile on my face, I have to write it out. I'm sorry, it was just too fluffy :-)
A/N: Characters are VERY OOC. So be warned. Background information, Hermione likes Draco and doesn't know if Draco likes her back. And Draco is taller than Hermione, just fyi. Very short, kind of fluffy (I hope).
The fic starts in T minus 5, 4, 3, 2, 1......
Heartbeat
Hermione and Draco were sitting inside, watching a movie with a bunch of their other friends as their own version of a graduation party. Harry had felt that there was enough excitement from the previous seven years at school, so they just decided to have a nice quiet evening with nothing eventful. It was just Pansy, Ron, Harry, Ginny, and Blaise; just a mix of people.
Little did they know that something eventful would happen
Crash
"What was that?"
"Dunno, let's check it out."
Everyone piled out of the room and into the cold British winter just to investigate a large noise. Then again, with Voldemort making an appearance at least once every year during school, you can't really blame them for being at least a little jumpy.

"Ron, did you just lock the door?" Ginny's face was filled with wrathful annoyance as she heard the lock on the door click into place with the knowledge that no one in the group had either the key or their wand with them.
"Um, yes? Why, what's wrong with that? Doesn't someone have a key or wand or something?" Ron's face was turning an odd shade of red as everyone turned and stared at him. He was the only one clueless about their situation.
"WRONG?! NO, IT'S JUST THAT WE NOW HAVE TO STAND OUT HERE IN THE COLD JUST BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO LOCK A MUGGLE DOOR!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! NOW WE HAVE TO STAND OUT HERE IN THE COLD UNTIL SOMEONE COMES UP WITH A WAY TO GET US BACK IN THERE!!! IT'S NO WONDER YOU ONLY GOT 5 O.W.L.S.!!! Hmph!" Ginny was really looking remarkably like Mrs. Weasley when she turned and stalked to the broom shed.
"Wait, where are you going?" Ron, always concerned for his sister's safety, asked Ginny.
"To somewhere that is warm." With that said, Ginny pushed off from the ground and soared into the sky.
"Wait! I'm going with you!" Ron scrambled to get to one of the remaining brooms before Ginny was completely out of sight.
There was a collective nod in the group and after a second, everyone scrambled to get one of the three remaining brooms.
Harry, Blaise, and Pansy took off after the pair of Weasleys in a flurry of robes and cloaks, leaving Hermione and Draco in the yard, shivering.
After a while, Hermione started complaining. After all, she really hated the cold.
"I hate the cold! It's so annoying. Why can't things be warm year 'round? Why can't we live somewhere like Jamaica? It's so nice and very warm there! Unlike here, where you can have icicles hanging out of your nose if you're out here long enough! Ugh!" With a frustrated groan she started sulking, so she didn't notice immediately when Draco started moving towards her.
"Draco, what-"
Startled, Hermione tried to speak. Draco cut her off with a finger on her lips, and simply held her. He just put his arms around her, letting Hermione burrow her head in his chest, snuggling into the warmth in his arms.
"Just concentrate on the heartbeat. That's what I always do when I'm cold. I just concentrate on my heartbeat."
Hermione could hear the rumble of his voice starting in his chest and build up in his throat, and it was the most comforting thing in the world. She snuck an arm around his back, sighed, and just stood there in his arms, listening to his heartbeat.
They just stood there, holding each other, listening to their hearts beating.
They stood there listening to the heartbeat.
