Ah, god, I was just so tired. How many hours has it been since we started this little 'road trip' anyway? I don't know, I lost track of time quite some time ago... I was really just debating it by the light of the moon that casted over head the neon that me and my friend were currently cramped up in. It was an old hammy-down vehicle that my dad gave me for my sixteenth birthday, not having enough money to buy me the convertible I was bugging for...Yeah, I was a little upset at first but I got used to the old thing. Other then the fact that it was constantly breaking down, then the amount of money I've spent on it for repairs, it was a good car. All I really cared was that it got me places. Speaking of my father and places, that's exactly where I; no WE were heading. My father currently occupies a house that's located in a place called 'La Push?' In truth he had always lived there, but with me livingwith my mother all my life I never really got the chance to get acquainted with the town orit's people for that matter. Hell, my dad was the one who came to visit me! I only everwent tothe place once, and it didn't go too well because of a certain person that I'd really rather not mention. What I will say though, is that hes a jerk. Yeah, I was only nine when I met him, but I still never want to see him again. I should explain instead of continuing on with my senseless babble... My names Yuki, yes I know foreign, but my moms Japanese and since my dad wasn't around when I was born he really had no say in the naming process. To be precise, I actually have two names, though the second ones more like a nickname that was given to me by my father because he wasn't too fond of the real thing. Katrina Is what I'll be going by here, and if you couldn't guess... I'm not only from Japanese decent, but also from 'Quileute'. And luckily, I have the best of both worlds. While I'm pale like my mom, I don't actually look full on Japanese, and I also have her small like physic so it makes for a cute appearance. However, my mom has jet black hair while I take after my dad with a very dark shade of difference ishardly noticeable unless I'm out in the sun, which as a plus also manages to compliment my skin tone. My friend on the other hand, who was currently resting back on the passenger seat in a state of sleep was completely and utterly Japanese. She had the skin, she had the hair, etc. And, I must say even though I'm definitely not into girls, she was absolutely gorgeous. Even now, as she was snoring and mumbling unattractively as she... Ah, who am I kidding? I'm about ready to punch her in the eye it's getting so annoying. A grin slipped onto my lips at the thought of that seeped into my mind. Not that it would change the current situation however, Hikaru was such a deep sleeper it probably wouldn't even make her cringe. I almost regretted inviting her down with me for the summer, in fact, I almost regretted on agreeing to come here all together. Not that I wasn't jazzed about seeing my dad, it's just the small beep that was coming out of my car served as a punishment. I couldn't see where I was going, I wasn't sure if the crappy GPS I had got was leading me in the right direction, and worst of all... I was running low on gas.
"Hikaru!" I yelled, the speed of the neon growing slower and slower as the seconds ticked by. I could hear movement coming from the passenger seat where she was, indicating that she had herd me. But, the groan that followed was reassurance that it would take a lot more then just her name to get her complete attention. "Hikaru if you don't wake up your going out the window!" She sighed, moving back into consciousness as she sat up fully before running her fingers through her long black mess of hair, "What do you want?" Her voice was noticeably hazy as she blinked repeatedly, allowing her eyes to adjust the darkness that they met once looking out the front window, "What do I want?" I questioned, hitting the steering wheel with frustration after I parked on the side of the dirt road we had just started heading down. We were in the middle of some pitch black forest, and even though I was known for having owl-like vision I couldn't see a thing. The GPS stated that we were close to my dads house... But not close enough to walk on foot, and with the stupid thing being almost one hundred percent wrong I definitely wasn't getting out to continue the journey that way. "We aren't!" She panicked, leaning over me to see the cars current state. Yep, absolutely empty. And of course, being as stupid as we were, we neglected to pack any fuel. Had I known the drive from the airport would be this bad, I definitely would've come more prepared. But, I didn't... Time to face the consequences. "We are." I answered her halfly asked question as I reached for my cellphone that was rested in between my jean covered legs. I don't know if you know the store GARAGE, but everything in there is my style. Not too girly, not too boyish, just the right look. And right now the jeans and plaid shirt that I was wearing was perfect. The jeans were ripped but in that way where it looked good, and fit so nicely onto my body that my curves were far too noticeable. Flipping the phone open I looked at the time before darting my eyes over to see how much signal I had. So far the time proved as a big disappointment, being eleven thirty when I promised my dad we'd be there by eight! And, to add to the already growing issue... I had no bars. "Look, you stay in here." I began, unbuckling my too-tight seat belt before reaching over and grabbing the handle of the door, "There's no signal in the car so I'm going to try and see if I can get one somewhere on the roa-"; "Are you stupid?" Hikaru cut me off, her eyes widened and making her seem a lot more awake then what she obviously was, "You could get attacked by like... A wolf or something!" I grinned, shifting away from the hand that was wrapped tightly around my right arm before throwing open the car door and jumping out into the surprisingly cold night air. I had to stop myself from shivering, "Don't worry, I'm good with animals." I said, watching as her mouth opened to once again complain, though kicking the door closed behind me and cutting her lecure short. The light in the car instantly flickered off, and while I knew that she could probably see me, I definitely couldn't see her anymore. Never the less, the threat of an animal attack wasn't too far off... So the constant watch alert brought some piece to mind. Not that she herself would do anything to save me, because she sure as hell wouldn't.
I sighed, stepping out in front of the car before once again flicking open my cellphone and looking at the bar status, still no change. Furrowing my brow in frustration I walked a bit further out into the road, wandering off to the side of it once the lack of progress continued. "One bar..." I grinned, jumping up onto a tree stump and holding up my arm. "Still one bar..." I quick lean over the stump, with my arm still held up in the air my smile only widened. Four bars! Alright! A rustle in the bushes caused me to jump slightly, and before I knew it my balance on the tree stump disappeared and I was falling head first to the ground. My now discarded phone thrown off into the darkness of the night. I closed my eyes because on the oncoming impact, though re-opened them immediately after a few seconds. Surelyeverything wasn't going in slow motion? No. Im not stupid. But I am a very sarcastic person, as you'll notice throughout all of truth though... I fell into something, almost... fluffy? It definitely wasn't grass, or the cold hard ground either. No, it was like... fur. Shifting my weight I looked over and met the gaze of a dog? No, this wasn't a dog... It was way too big to be a dog. Could it have been... Was it... "WOLF!" I screamed, jumping up and away from the creature. Though, of course, clumsily tripping back over the stump that I had recently been standing on and falling hard onto my butt. The animal moved back a bit in surprise, though stopped dead in his tracks after he got a good look at me. "Stay away!" I for some reason warned, placing the palms of my hand firmly on the ground before crawling backwards and creating a distance. The intense look that the animal had faded rather quickly, a little too quickly, into a soft stare, as he stood up and began walking toward me. I gasped a little, heart seeming to beat out of my chest with each pawed step that it took toward me. By the time he had gotten past the all too familiar half tree another rustle of bushes, followed by a grunt, stopped him again in his tracks. He seemed almost dazed, but that seemed to be enough to snap him out of it. His dark eyes slowly moved toward the sound that had gotten his attention then back at me almost hesitant to leave. Shufflingaway a bit more I jumped in fear as the thing darted away, almost leaving a trail of dust in it's path. "OHMYGOD Katrina, are you alright?" Hikaru yelled, cutting through the silence that followed the wolf's absence and the shock that accompanied it. I had only noticed then, while he was standing over me, how big he was. Even for a wolf. "I'm...I've been better..." I managed to utter, standing up shakily and dusting the back of my pants off. Had it not been for the wideness of my eyes and the shaking of my body I probably wouldn't have looked all that scared. What, with the way I was going about it. Coming that close to death and then worrying about my jeans afterwards? I take what I said before back... Maybe I am stupid. Hikaru hurried over, stopping only once we were inches apart and I was forced to look up at her. The height difference wasn't all that much, but enough for my head to tilt up to get a better look. Often times she made fun of how short I was, and while this was one of those perfect times... It didn't seem like she was going to bring it up. "But... I... I mean, I know I said what if a wolf attacks you but that was just way too strange!" I gulped, reaching my hand to the back of my neck and rubbing it for effect as I stared around the area, "I know, right? Weird coincidence-"; "That's not what I meant!" My left eyebrow raised a bit in interest, edging her to continue on with her sentence, "What I mean is... The animal saved you from getting hurt." Huh? Saved me? Sure, the expression the animal had was weird... But, I thought it meant he was getting ready to take a bite out of me... Not trying to figure out if I was okay. No, Hikaru had just been seeing things. Maybe I accidentally fell on the wolf so it made it look like it tried to save me? Yeah, the hope was far off... but... There had to be some kind of NORMAL explanation.
"You girls okay?" Aheavy voice called out, as footsteps sounded off the rocky road that my car was parked along. I turned quickly on the balls of my feet, eyeing the four men that now stood in front of us. They were all incredible hot, incredible tanned, and incredible shirtless. In fact, the only thing covering there fit bodies was a pair of shorts... Have to say, Yuki like. Despite my so in character thoughts, my parted lips were followed by not one said word. Surprisingly, the meeker of the two of us was the first to speak up. "Car broke down." Hikaru said, stepping up beside me to get a better look at all of them. I didn't need to stare over at her to know that she was smiling. Yeah, the girl was usually shy but sometimes she had her moments where flirtation would kick in. Made me proud, maybe I was a bad influence on her after all? "Well, lucky for you, we have quite the mechanic here with us." The four of them stood in a row, the older man who had just spoken was a few paces ahead of the others though, making him look like the 'leader' or something. Or at least, the more noticeable one. There were two others on his left while one stuck by his right, and that said one was who's shoulder he placed his hand on. "The kids name is Jacob, hell take care of your car while me and the others take you to your fathers." I hesitated before finally speaking up, I mean... Were they physic or something? "How did you know I was..." He laughed, cutting my sentence short before shoving the one known as Jacob off to my car. He looked as if he was a bit shocked, though got to work the moment he reached the vehicle. "Your father sent us to look for you, since it's getting so late." The man said, causing me to sigh a bit in relief and step off the grass so I was closer to the now deemed trio. "Katrina and...Hikaru right?"; "That's us!" Hikaru cooed, grabbing my arm and leading me completely over to them. "What can we call you guys by?" I stared over at my friend, not sure what to make of her with the sudden attitude change. While the first two looked unaffected, the other one I wasn't so sure about... He had a dazed look as he stared at her, almost like the one that that wolf gave me earlier. I quickly shook off the idea and brought back up the resolution that I had come up with about the entire situation. "I'm Sam," He began, patting a hand to his chest before pointing over at his quieter friends. "This is Quill and Embry." Upon being introduced Quill stepped up so he was literally right in front of us and gave us a big bear hug, lifting us up off our feet briefly before setting us back down and moving away, an even bigger smile appearing on his lips as we were. "Welcome to La Push!" He laughed, catching both me and Hikaru off guard by the warm welcome. He didn't seem to notice the awkward confusion that happened because of his actions, but Sam did, as he right away hit the back of Quills head. "You'll have to excuse these two," Sam complained, grabbing Quills arm and throwing him playfully out onto the grassy area that me and Hikaru had just walked off of. "Were all just a little excited to meet the daughter of 'chief'"
I grinned, knowing that nickname all too well as my father often referred to himself as such. "Still full of himself?" I asked, causing three out of four of them to laugh. Jacob was pretty far away, so it amazed me that he herd my comment; but the satisfaction of getting them all to laugh was enough to center my mind back to reality. "Then, what's his problem?" Hikaru pipped up, after the commotion died down. Telling by her gaze she was staring right at Embry, a look of confusion plastered on her face as she studied his own expression. Yep, you guessed it, still dazed. Sam sighed as he swung his arm around his buddy's shoulders and ruffled his fist through his hair. "Hes just stupid."; "Hey!" Embry yelled, having finally woken up from his trance like state to disagree. Pushing Sam away Embry caught Hikaru's gaze again before smiling shyly. "Hey..." The word was slurred and said so lightly that he sounded as if he was high or something. I had to clench my teeth together to keep from laughing. "Guys, lets get the lady's home, alright?" Sam interrupted, walking through the connected eye contact that my friend and Embry were producing before continuing ahead. I sighed, leaving the two of them behind as I quickly followed in his and Quills footsteps. My eyes scanning the area for any sign of another parked vehicle. "Your cars pretty far off, eh.." I said, dreading the confession that I knew was going to follow. Sam's laugh echoed through the quiet night again, like before, as he leaned his head up to look at the trees over us before answering. "No car, just feet."
Seriously... Are you kidding me!
