"Go sit on the steps," Beck told Jade pointing.
Jade was pissed.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU," she snapped at him, "YOU'RE NOT MY FATHER. YOU HAVE NO DAMN RIGHT TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!"
"Jade," Beck said calmly, "You are making this situation worse for Tori. She's going through a tough time right now so do what I said"
"NO," Jade said, "You know why I fell in love with you. I fell in love with you because you loved me for who I am not with the expectation I would be anyone but who I am. You used to see when I was trying and compliment me but you were to damn blind to see that I was trying to empathize with Tori. Oh and you know what else. My family used to do that all the time. They didn't love me for me only when I met their standards. You know what. I love you but I can't be with you because you don't love me for me anymore."
"What," Beck said, "That's ridiculous. Of course I love you for you."
"Well you haven't been acting it ever since Vega came here. It's always you are getting mad at me or you're acting like this and what the fuck is with your getting mad in the first place Beck. You know about my past and what the fuck is with your-"
"Can you stop cursing," Beck asked, "It's not becoming"
"Look," Jade said, "Here's what I'm going to do. We're over for a week"
"What? Why," Beck asked worried
"So that you can learn to appreciate me for who I am rather then expecting me to be someone that I'm not. Until 7:08 Friday night there is no kissing. There is no hugging. There's not talking. It's as if we never even met. Maybe a week without me will teach you how lucky you are to have me in your life."
"Jade-"

One week later Beck was going crazy. He missed Jade so much he thought that he would lose his mind. He couldn't sleep at night. He couldn't enjoy anything he was doing without her. Then Jade came up and wrapped her arms around him.
"Hey there stranger," she said.
He kissed her.
"Oh GOD I missed you," he told her holding to her like he wouldn't let go.
"Boy," she said, "I should break up with you more often."
"Jade you were right," he said, "I haven't been appreciating you so much lately"
"Well I had some time to think to," she said, "and I realize that I wasn't the nicest person in the world either. I'll try to be nicer to Vega and to you but you need to realize that it's important for you to love me for me. I can't be in a good relationship if you aren't going to make the effort."
"Will you make the effort too" Beck asked, "That means not getting on my case for every time I talk to a girl"
"Yes. But you need to stop pushing for your ideas that I'm not comfortable with. We have to BOTH agree"
"Agreed," he said and kissed her again.
