He woke up alone on the forest floor. At first, he was increadibly confused- although it certaintly wasn't the first time he had woken up alone, in a strange place. He slowly sat up, his back hurting slightly from the hard ground. He dumbly looked around until he noticed a black dress and hat, abandoned beside a pile of his own clothing. His jacket was pulled over him, blocking him from the crisp fall air.
Elphaba
He felt himself blush as he remembered the events of the night before. He pulled on his pants, and pulled them on, wondering where she had gotten to. She couldn't have gone too far. He decided eyeing the dress.
He felt the twigs crunch under his bare feet as he searched the woods for a sign of her. Suddenly, he heard a soft voice singing... was that singing? It was, but not in any language he recognized. He considered calling for her, but decided not to... this was more fun.
He found her quickly, once he followed her voice. A trickle of water drained into a lake. She stood at the shallow part of it, her hair like black silk, down her back. In the dawn light, her green skin sparkled. He held his breath.
She didn't look human, and she certaintly didn't look like a witch. Images of muses and nymphs came to his mind.
She looked up then, her soft brown eyes shining at him. He felt himself smile as he looked at her. "Come here!" He called after her, wading out into the shallow water, and she came to him. "You like like a... a dryad, a tree nymph," he said, reaching forward to touch her cheek.
She pulled away. "A dryad, huh?" He nodded and she smiled wickedly. "In that case, you'll have to catch me!" Before he had a chance to react, she had splashed the lake water at him, and had scampered off. He blinked and then smiled. She had ran acrossed the water, standing waist deep in it. "Aren't you going to chase me?"
"You're pretty enough to just stare at. Actually touching you seems selfish of me."
She stepped toward him. "Since when are you concerned with seeming selfish?" She asked, ignoring the 'pretty' comment.
He waited until she was closer... "You know, you're right..." With three quick steps, he closed the gap between them, and grabbed her. "I am selfish." He pulled her close.
She gasped, his body was warm compared to the cold lake water. He kissed her gently then, wrapping one arm around her waist, the other hand in her hair. She felt herself... melt into him. He kissed the sensitve area at the back of her neck. He took her, right there in the water.
Later, when the two of them had collapsed back on the bank of the river, she whipsered, "You caught me... I'm yours forever, now."
