She Doesn't Need The Help
"There they go at it again."
Kaito looked up from the basketball at Ryuji's disgusted statement, to see some of the guys on their team mocking the other transfer student for wanting to play with them. All because she was a girl and foreign at that. Now, the glasses-wearing teen didn't heed such dumb notions and had talked to the girl that very morning on the way to school. She seems like an alright person, if a bit too headstrong...
"And I can't play with you because...?" the blonde was asking, clearly annoyed with them as she held the ball away from their grabby hands, one of the trio attempting to reach out and grab it while 'accidently' brushing his hand over her back.
"You are a girl, you should be playing volleyball in the corner over there." the buffy leader sneered into her green eyes as expertly evaded his attempts to get the ball back, too. "Now hand over that and nobody gets hurt."
"What? Are you implying that you would hurt me if I don't hand it over?" she asked. "Well, too bad, I feel like playing basketball. Now get out of my way!"
They continued to argue like that as the guys began to tower over her, trying to scare the girl into handing it over. Ryuji watched with growing annoyance that any man would treat a lady like that and looked at his blackhaired best friend. "We should go and help her...!"
But as they were watching, the girl (whom they've later on came to know as Ann Takamaki) moved pass the guys and scored a point for the opposing team, to their surprised cheers and the blonde male's stunned face. Kaito just chuckled to himself and smirked at his clueless friend.
"... there is no need. Ann Takamaki is shaping to be just what this school might need to change..."
"... yeah, yeah! Change!" Ryuji nodded fiercely and went onto another long monologue about how change was needed and how they could make it happen. Kaito was only listening with half an ear, Ann being reflected in his glasses as she looked over with a frowning expression on her features.
Interesting indeed...
