Without saying goodbye

Harry Potter stood on the front steps of Hogwarts, as the Death eaters were defeated. He knew his mate wasn't close by since he could feel the bond straining, making him sick.

"Harry?," came the concerned voice of Hermione Granger from behind him.

"He's not here Hermione,"

"WHAT!, he knows that it could kill you. Harry, dark veela's can only go so long without their mates,"

"He knows, but it has to be. I'm leaving tonight Hermione, I have to finish the horocux's," Harry said turning to face his best friend of seven years.

"Harry not al…,"

"Goodbye Hermione," with the final farewell, Harry disapparted to the final spot he knew of off the map Dumbledore had left to him.

Three left. Harry had just arrived at the third final one, when he felt the tug in his chest informing him that his mate was near by.

'I'm sorry Severus,' Harry thought as he set up his tent, and got ready to seek out the horocux with the Gryffindor sword in hand.

Harry had made it halfway down the lake when he felt he was being watched. Harry instantly released his wings and fangs, and was prepared for attack.

"Harry," came a whispered voice.

"Sev," Harry whispered back as he turned around to face his mate, who stepped out of the shadows a second later.

"Come to me my love,"

"Oh Sev!," Harry moaned as he latched himself to Severus' body.

"Where's your tent Harry?,"

"Halfway up,"

"Good, let's go," as Severus said that he picked Harry up, and headed towards the tent.

Three hours later Harry and Severus were laying in the bed, with Harry's dark vela purring in content.

"You know, you left without saying goodbye,"

"I'll never do it again," Severus said kissing Harry's forehead, and snuggling up to his now contented lover, mate, and husband.
