Tango

DISCLAIMER: Thank you Jonathan Larson! I'm sorry for stealing your lyrics and ideas to make my humble fanfiction. I'm really not worthy. tears OK, I think that's enough melodrama.
Maureen.
Since I first saw her,
I knew (or rather, didn't).
It just seemed so right.
She appeared so faithful,
Her love so sincere.
I just knew (or rather, didn't) know she felt the same.
She gave all she had,
Even leaving Mark to be with me.
Our first kiss
Was so magical.
That was when I was sure (or rather, wasn't)
We were destined
To be together
Forever.
Yet she is not what she seemed,
Flirting with everything that moves,
Making me feel
Worthless and unloved.
Mark once felt the same.
As we dance and sing the story,
He asks:
"Why do we love when she's mean?"
I reply:
"She can be so obscene.."
Then I let
My feelings show
For once in my life
And quietly, sadly
Sing:
"My Maureen…"
Both of us have known
This roller-coaster ride
And give it a name:
"The Tango Maureen."
