It felt weird being sucked into a dimension that looked neon and black. The only light source was the light continuing to fade in the distance. He felt pain as his body collided with the ground, something he felt all too often, yet it was becoming less and less as he continued on his journey. He heard another thud as a blue hedgehog hit the ground, but then got back up and turned to him.

"You alright?"

He nodded and grunted as he took the Hedgehog's hand. He looked down and saw the path away from the light fading and the path toward it moving. He looked back at the darkness closing in and felt the urge to run, but he didn't. It was quick, it was slow, almost like it coaxing him to take it easy. Wait for it to catch up while at the same time mocking him.

"Don't look back."

He heard Sonic say as the hedgehog walked toward the vanishing light. He did same and his sniffer felt crisp familiar air of their planet fading with the light.

"We'll get out of here."

"Sonic."

"Hmm?"

"I… how can you keep moving? How is it that you are still this… ton of energy."

"Blitz." He looked at him. "Are you okay?"

The brown haired dog looked down as he kept walking with him, but slowly gaining speed.

"Honestly… I'm mixed. One thing is that we're stuck in this thing and it's taunting us to get out."

"Yeah," He chuckled. "I feel that too."

"But… strangly… I think we can get through this."

"Yeah… we're a team. You and me. I got your back and you got mine." Sonic turned to him with a light hearted smile. "I had a good feeling about you when I first saw you… Knuckles was right about you."

"I think he's put too much faith in me."

"It's good, you managed to turn things around when I'm not there. You fought back against Eggman and his enforcers."

"Are you kidding? Chaos was brutal, I thought I was going to die."

"You pulled through, Mighty and Wave were with you. They spoke highly of you. You got something to fight for."

"I know." He smiled thinking of that someone. She was one of the reasons he kept fighting. "I'll continue fighting, just like you… even if you were… tortured for six months."

Sonic looked forward with a frown. "Sure, I was beaten, ridiculed, shocked, he almost did it. I think sending me off to space with every territory captured and no way out would have broke me." He grinned. "But things turned out alright."

They both started running, their speed increasing. The darkness and path behind them felt like it was decaying quickly and tried to catch up.

"The two of us can do it, Blitz." He raised up his hand. "There's nothing that can stop us."

"Nothing." Blitz grinned as he raised his hand. "We're way past cool."

"Now let's do it to it!"

The slapped five and then shot forward like lightning. The bond of friendship blitzed through the darkness and toward the light. The faster they went the more they caught up to the light.

"Now we're talking. Let's go kick some Eggman butt."

"YEAH!" Blitz shouted with vigor.

With two of them the can do it.
