Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
People, Valentine's Day came too soon. I didn't have the chance to put the NaruHina one up, so I'm going to put this one up first, then the NaruHina.
Yay!!!!11!
Neji stared at his female teammate. It wasn't really what she looked like at the moment that scared him; it was what she was holding in her hands. No, she was not holding the newest type of weaponry, or a scroll. What she was holding was pink. And edible.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she demanded, "It's not like a girl can never bake something for her team once in a while." Neji nodded, and tore his gaze away from the tray of cookies to Tenten, whose outfit today consisted of a pink polo shirt and black shorts that came above the knee. Her hair was down and straightened. "Stop staring, Neji!" Tenten snapped.
"She's right, Neji," said Lee, "It is very un-youthful to stare at somebody like that." He nodded.
"Maybe I wouldn't be staring if there was an explanation to all of this."
"To all of what?" she replied.
"The new look. The cupcakes. The lip gloss." Neji said, now looking at the applied coat of makeup on Tenten's face.
"I don't know what you do or celebrate," said Tenten, "But today is Valentine's Day."
"Only that?" said Neji, quirking an eyebrow, "I thought that you wouldn't go too out of it, since of course, you're not like the other girls your age."
"Too out of it? Like other girls my age? Neji, despite my tomboyish attitude, I am, and will always be a girl. Girls like chocolate. Chocolate equals Valentine's Day. Girls like flowers. Flowers equal Valentine's Day. Girls like Valentine's Day, okay?" Tenten explained.
"Girls like flowers and chocolates?" asked Neji.
"Yes." said Tenten.
"I thought you were allergic to chocolate." Neji said.
"No; I said I was allergic to chocolate with nuts in it," said Tenten, "Therefore making me allergic to nuts."
"Let's spar." Tenten chucked a kunai at him. He smirked and nodded.
Minutes later, the battle was won and Tenten was lying down on the grass. Neji was somewhere else, looking around for something, but failing.
"Tenten." Tenten stirred and opened an eye.
"Where's Neji?" she asked Lee.
"He went somewhere. He said he would be back soon though, but in the mean time I'll spar with you."
"That's okay Lee, you don't have to."
Neji was walking back to training grounds quickly and saw Tenten still sprawled out on the ground, obviously thinking. He nudged her. When she opened her eye, she saw a lily and a box of chocolates.
"Lee, you didn't have to…" she said, guessing who they were from.
"It's not Lee."
"Neji?" she exclaimed.
"Hn." She grinned. Of course, she was skilled in the art of understanding Neji.
"Hn." He had said.
Be my valentine. Is what she had heard. And she had gladly accepted.
Review please! Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate!
