Count Tyln Dooku, also known as Darth Tyranus, awaited the Jedi prisoner to be brought to the holding cell in the Sith lair on Coruscant. He would be in charge of the prisoner, which made him frown. He was a Sith Lord, not a prison guard.
Who had they finally captured which sent up a great joy through his army? Windu? Koon? Mundi?
The ship landed, the door opened, and Dooku almost had a heart attack.
Yoda? They had captured Yoda?
Large, gentle eyes locked with his, and he nearly trembled. The disappointment in those eyes bit into his very soul.
"Keep moving," Ventress growled, kicking the now defenseless Master.
A Force Inhibitor was around his neck, and he was battered and bruised from cruel treatment from the young Dark Jedi.
"Enough, Ventress. I'll take him from here. Go home," Dooku said, coming up to them.
She growled but did as told.
Dooku took the chain, his heart throbbing to see his old mentor treated like an animal.
He took small, slow steps so Yoda could keep up. He was patient, something Yoda had drilled into him when he had been a boy.
They reached the cell, and he left Yoda inside, going to speak with Sidious.
"Master, would it not be safer for me to take him off planet?"
"To where, Lord Tyranus?"
Dooku thought for a moment.
"Perhaps, if I were to blindfold him then take him to my fortress on Raxus Prime. He can cause us no trouble, and the Jedi wouldn't think to look for him there."
Sidious pondered this for a moment.
"Very well, Tyranus. Go now."
He bowed and left. He blindfolded Yoda and went to Raxus Prime. Once inside, he took off the blindfold.
"This is your new home."
"Hmph. Prison this is."
Dooku scowled.
"Be grateful. You could have been put in a cell and most likely executed if I hadn't suggested bringing you here."
Yoda looked at him.
"Why save me would you?"
The Count blinked, caught off guard by the question.
"I... I don't know, just be glad I did."
He gave Yoda a room and left him there, going to his study. He sighed as he sat down, and Yoda's question still rang in his mind.
He really didn'tknow exactly why he had saved Yoda, especially after the anger and malice he had fought him with on Geonosis at the start of the Clone Wars a year ago.
Why had he saved Yoda?
He wasn't sure, and he had a feeling he wasn't going to figure out why any time soon.
