A/N: Okay..my first inu oneshot...well, at least within the year. The first inuyasha oneshot I've ever posted. It is REALLY REALLY Short... but I hope you all like it...

She looked around the barren field that was now clouded with dust and ash. The battle was won, but at a price. Kagome shielded her eyes and heaved out dry gags. The stench of decaying demons was unbearable. She called out his name, but got nothing in return. She tried again. Finally, there was a muffle. She followed the noise, and found Inuyasha laying behind a boulder. She knelt next to him and tried to hold him up, but he groaned out in pain and she put him down. The sight of him was aweful. Blood trickling down every part of his body. His eyes were still dialating from becoming his full fledged self. His yukata was ripped and frayed. Kagome was not in her best shape either, bruises and cuts stung her arms and legs. Her hair had been torn and is now uneven. Her school uniform, once again, needed to be renewed.

"Inuyasha..." Kagome choked out. She was trying so hard not to cry. His hyperventilating was getting too much, but he wouldn't let her see his real critical condition.

"Where's Sango and the others?" Inuyasha asked

"They went off to get help..." Kagome explained "They took care of the other demons. Just rest"
"Damn them...damn every demon who attacked us today" He cursed
"Inuyasha..."
"I hate them. I hate them all. Even myself"
"Don't say that, Inuyasha. Not all demons are alike"
"That's a lie. We're all the same. Every one of us" Inuyasha gripped the side of the boulder in attempt to stand but failed. Kagome finally found his arm around her neck for support. She helped him stand, and limped with him to an open place with fresher air. He fell to the ground and layed there, greedily taking in breaths.

"You shouldn't move.." Kagome insisted.
"I know" he agreed. He growled and punched the ground. His senses weren't as well as they should be. His eyes were blurry and he could barely smell Kagome's sweet scent next to him.
"I've finally been defeated" Inuyasha said.
"What?" Kagome asked "We won"
"All of them attacked me at once. All of them knew my weakness was you"

"And that's why you blocked me..." Kagome realized.

"I hate being demon. I could have killed you. You could have died at my hands. Now look at me" Inuyasha looked down at his bleeding self.

"We're going to get you help" Kagome reminded
"It's too late for me" Inuyasha said. Kagome's eyes sparkled with tears, and she shook her head.
"No! No it isn't!" She denied.

"Demons don't belong in this world. I refuse to let you die at my hands" Inuyasha lifted his hand and pierced his chest with his claw. Kagome grabbed his arm to stop him, but he was stronger than she was. Blood poured out of his body, staining the dirt below them. Kagome's hands were tainted with crimson liquid. Tears were streaming down her face in an endless cycle. Inuyasha grunted and winced his eyes. Kagome gripped his hand tighter than she ever had before.
"Tell the others I said goodbye" He said
"Inuyasha! Why!" She yelled. Inuyasha didn't respond. He slowly took in his last breath. His eyes sunk to the back of his head. His lips quivered momentarily. Sweat drops blotched his face. Soon his body grew limp in Kagome's arms. Kagome checked his pulse, crying hysterically. He was officially deceased. She didn't get to tell him goodbye even when she was right next to him. She didn't get to tell him how she felt. She didn't get to spend her life with him as she hoped he always would. She felt sick. She felt like she should die right there for letting him do this to himself. She knelt over and sobbed. This was the end. He was now her immortal.
