Glenn knew better than anyone how seriously Maggie took to being a parent, and especially what outfits their child was dressed in throughout the day. To be honest, Glenn had never known how many outfits an infant could use up in a ten or twelve hour time frame. All the clothes Maggie had acquired for their bundle of joy, were shirts or onesies with cute sayings and little animals stitched to the front. Those were what she liked, but it was obvious that Daryl finally had enough one afternoon.
"Man, I don't think she's gonna like this," Glenn worried, watching Daryl effortlessly pick Hershel up and transfer him over to the changing table. "She has a thing about his clothes."
Daryl turned his head over to the worried father. "What, you mean she likes dressin' this poor guy in cow onesies? This little dude needs somethin' with more spark than that."
"I know, but-"
"Shh, shh," Daryl shushed, holding up one finger, as he gently cradled the baby while he switched his outfit. "There you go, Hershel J. You like this better already, don't ya?" The baby cooed in response, and tried to grab a fistful of Daryl's straggly hair.
"She went out on a run with Tara and Eugene," Glenn pointed out, coming over to the changing table. "I don't know when she's coming back."
"What, are you scared of her?"
"No...not really."
Going to stand over his son when Daryl was finally through dressing him, he could not control the laugh that came from him when he saw what Daryl had chosen for his son. Even he had to admit that he liked this a lot better than what he was usually dressed in. It was a onesie with the words: "I Drink Until I pass out." Complete with a depiction of a bottle on the front.
