Just a short fluffy oneshot. I hope you enjoy.
He was cold and hungry, it had begun to rain awhile ago and he was thoroughly soaked, however he still sat there on the swing at the academy he had claimed as his when he was younger, staring off into nowhere. What did it matter – no one was going to care. He had no home to go to. No one was going to worry about him. They never had before so why should they now? He was a monster, something to be feared – hated. Never to be loved.
He shivered as his stomach gave a halfhearted protest on the lack of food. He ignored it, looking up at the sky peering through the leaves of the tree and the arrows of rain. It was getting dark, it will be getting colder soon. Not that it mattered anymore, he had to feeling left – he was numb.
Looking over startled at a noise, he saw a little boy jumping in the puddles outside the Academy gate. His blond hair was drenched, sticking to his skin – however the small child continued to play his game laughing. A moment later a woman with long light brown hair appeared under an light blue umbrella. Her soft, caring scoldings could be heard from where he sat in his swing. The woman fussed over the child, wiping his drenched hair back, revealing clear blue eyes. The child smiled adoringly at the woman, letting her fuss over him before pulling him into a hug and taking his hand. He felt a pang in his heart as he watched the mother and her child.
Why?
He jumped a little as he felt a warm hand on his shoulder pulling him back into a warm body behind him. Startled, he looked up into obsidian eyes. Feeling himself pulled into their depths of pain, loneliness, understanding, acceptance and –
Both of their attention was diverted to the other pair, as the mother told the child they had better head home. The child laughed delightedly and grabbed his mother's hand, dragging her along. The woman smiled indulgently at the child and asked what he wanted for dinner. The reply of ramen was followed by laughter as they made their way home.
The feeling of arms wrapping around him, brought his attention back to the other. He looked up questioningly. The other smiled and bent to kiss his cold nose, water droplets fell of their chin to be caught in his eyelashes. The other just smiled sadly and wiped it away as it started to trail down his cheek, a small hesitant smile was returned.
"Come on Dobe, let's go home and dry," the other said softly.
The other pulled him up and off his swing, clutching his hand. His eyes widened before the began to tear. He furiously wiped at his eyes and smiled back.
"Thanks Teme," he whispered.
The other pulled him close and kissed his lips sweetly before resuming walking. Both waded in the warm after glow of the kiss, tasting the sweet tingling on their lips, spreading warmth throughout their cold bodies and taking comfort from the warm body next to them and their hands entwined.
"What would you like for dinner," soft words broke the comfortable silence the two fell into as the walked home.
Home.
He smiled.
"Ramen."
Soft laughter was met with the reply, filling the two with long deserved warmth.
Home.
I do not own Naruto and am not making any profit from this.
Anyway, I hope you liked... I kind of felt in this mood after reading some sappy GrimmIchi fanfics. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading.
