Yami woke to the soft feel of small fingers doodling on his chest. "Yugi?" He questioned lightly, knowing it was the boy.
Yugi jumped back, hands flying into the air on reflex. "Sorry." After a moment he dropped his hands and slumped back down onto the floor, head resting on the couch mext to Yami's shoulder. "Yami?"
"Yes, Aboito?" Yami sat up, pushing up into a sitting position, watching the teens display.
Yugi didn't answer for a moment, but finally moved his head so he was faceing the other. "Will you always be with me?" He blinked at his own words and sat up a little straighter. "I mean, are you going to leave if you get tired of me or something?"
Yami wasn't surprised, Yugi had been thinking about this for a while now and Yami didn't need there telepathic minds to figure it out. "NO, I will not leave you. You're my light, I need you to stay alive, and not physically like it was before, I need you emotionally and mentally to keep me in check or I might fall back into the darkness." He chuckled lightly, a playful grin tweaking his lips. "All the 'Yami's our like that, they just express it in different ways."
"Oh," Yugi nodded, understanding but at the same time not knowing what Yami meant.. "I see." He shifted again, head resting against Yami's thigh. "I need you too. I would be lost without you. Even if I have my friends," He paused. "They just don't. . . . GET me." Yugi looked up. "You know?"
It was Yami's turn to nod. "Yes, I understand what you're saying." Yami lifted hand to Yugi's hair and idly ran his fingers through it.
Yugi was content with that but couldn't quell the urge to ask a favor. "Do something for me?" He waited for the mumbled reply from the other before continuing. "Promise me you won't just throw me away when your done with me."
Yami smiled at the boy. "I promise I'll forever stay by your side. Okay?" He tousled Yugi's hair and leaned down, placing a kiss on Yugi's forehead.
Yugi smiled widely and a small blush tinted his cheeks in his happiness. "Okay." Then, as an after thought, he added. "Thank you, Yami."
Yami chuckled again and leaned back, relaxing against the plush of the couch. "You're welcome, Aboito."
