A/N: Here's a really quick one-shot, I really wanted to type one for some reason lol.
Movie Night with a Vampire
She walked over to the couch with a large popcorn bowl in her hands, "Thanks for coming over Marshall. Cake's been leaving a lot to take care of her kittens so I've been alone a lot lately." She confessed softly, sitting down next to him on the worn down couch.
Marshall shrugged and grabbed a handful of popcorn, shoving it into his mouth. "No problem Fi, I had nothing to do anyway, it's been a while since we hung out alone." He shrugged once more before picking up the empty movie case, exaimening it. "So what movie are we watching?" He asked scratching his head.
Fionna smiled as she stole the case away from him, "Heat Signature." She explained, looking around for the remote so she could start up the film.
"Again?" He asked annoyed, "I've seen it like a billion times... what else do you got?" He asked, getting up.
She frowned, "I love Heat Signature... we have some in the corner." She explained pouting. This happened every time they had a movie night together, Marshall just had to chose his favorite. "Totally not fair," She huffed, her cheeks puffed.
He searched through the many tapes and smirked, "Just eat your popcorn, baby."
"I am not a baby!" The blond argued. Grabbing a large handful of popcorn, she stuffed it in her mouth. The salty flavor made her smile, at least there was still something tasty about today. Leaning back, she watched him continue to make his selection. Propping her arm up, she watched him quietly. Swallowing her mouthful, her eyes remained on the other until he turned around. "Find something?" She asked, her lips still in a smile, but less than before.
Marshall nodded his head as he pulled one out with a smile on his face. "Lets watch Dark Roses." He suggested, but it sounded more like a demand. It seemed like she couldn't really tell him no, Marshall seemed excited anyway about it.
The adventuress rose a brow, "You know that's a horror romance right?" She asked slowly. She didn't know that the Vampire King out of everyone would actually enjoy a movie like that. She and Cake had watched it on more than one occasion. It was a sweet love story yet had gory scenes.
He nodded, "Chicks dig this stuff right? Also, it's horror so it's a plus." He grinned as if he had made the best choice in the whole Candy Kingdom.
Fionna let out a soft laugh, her face lighting up. "Nice to know you're worried about what the 'chicks' dig." She set the popcorn bowl down as he pushed the tape in. Making sure the other had room, she hugged her knee's. "You better not talk through the whole movie either like you usually do. If you have any questions, wait until afterwards."
Marshall came back, rolling his eyes and turned off the lights before flopping back on the couch.
As the previews were fast forwarded, Fionna found herself glancing over next to her. Marshall was spread out, taking much of her space. She watched as he played the movie, soon getting in it. Finding a fuller smile coming, she pulled her eyes away and looked over to the movie. Her eyes traveled to the screen to see a man with a chainsaw attack people on a cruise ship. Marshall laughed as blood splattered everywhere. "Sick bro..." She said with a scrunched up face. The movie had just began and the gore was already at it's peak.
"What?" He asked smiling at her, "It's entertaining." He let out a laugh as a girl's head was decapitated from her body, "This is gold!" He elbowed her, "You gotta admit it Fi, this is much better than Heat Signature."
Shaking her head, Fionna reached over and grabbed a handful of popcorn. "It isnt realistic either, too much blood." Rolling her eyes, she shoved it into her mouth. "I now remember why I havent watched this in forever." She explained, her words muffled from the popcorn. Hearing him mumble in disagreement, she decided just to watch the movie. Maybe if she tried to get into it more, the quicker it would be over.
By the end of the movie, she was in tears. The main character and his girlfriend were about to get married, the bell chimes sent chills down her spine. She always wondered what it would be like, just her and her true love standing infront of everyone as they confessed their true love. She wiped her eyes, "This is so beautiful!" Fionna blubbered happily.
Marshall looked at her with a confused expression, "Girls... Always so dramatic." Slouching further in his spot, he continued watching. Suddenly remembering something, he smirked. "Just watch... I think this is my favorite part."
Fionna's brows furrowed before she looked back at the movie, "What?" She asked, confusion settling in. She couldnt remember what happened, it had been so long since she had last watched this. Biting her lip, she watched in anticipation.
Next thing She knew, that stupid chainsaw guy appealed.
Her eyes widened, "No!" It all came back to her, the terrible ending this movie had. "You cant keep the main characters alive all of this time and then just kill them! What is this?!"
His chainsaw started and blood splattered everywhere, screams were heard before the credits rolled.
Marshall frowned, "What a crappy ending." He huffed before standing up, stretching out his limbs with a groan. He had been laying there way too long, now he was all stiff. Looking over at Fionna, he noticed how angry she was getting. "Fi?"
She threw the empty bowl at the TV in anger, "No! They can't die just like that! They were suppose to live happily ever after!" She yelled in frustration. "They seriously cant just end it there like that, I want to punch them all in the face."
"It's not a fairy tale Fi," Marshall chuckled as he watched his bud throw a fit over such a simple thing..
Fionna glared at him, "Shut up." She ordered as she got up and picked up the bowl, "They didn't even get to kiss..." She pounted out sadly, wishing that the couple could have at least done that. But now they were dead, their saved first kiss impossible as were their broken dreams.
"It's just a kiss, nothing too special about it." Marshall turned off the movie, sighing softly. He didnt want to admit it out loud but he kind of didnt want this night to be over already. Hearing silence, he glanced over to see Fionna wearing a small blush, her eyes on the ground. His lips tugged into a smirk, "But you've never kissed someone before so you might think it's special for now." Seeing Fionna turn away with that same embarrased expression, he floated over to her. "Wanna try it? Just so you can see how dull it really is." He added, looking to the side.
Fionna looked behind her at him, "You cant be serious..." She mumbled, shaking her head. Sure, she always wondered what it would be like to kiss someone but she didnt think someone would offer like Marshall was doing right now.
He shrugged, "Never kissed a girl who hasn't received her first kiss before. I wanna try everything before I die." He explained, shrugging his shoulders. Sure it was a pathetic reason but he wasnt really ready to confess to the blond how he really felt right now.
"But you can't die," She pointed out, bringing the empty bowl into the kitchen. Setting it in the sink, she grabbed the rag and began to scrub at the left over butter.
He floated after her and winked, "Exactly. Plus, you can become a better kisser this way. So when you find that right guy comes along, you'll know exactly what to do." His lips pursed together, he just hoped that he was going to be that right guy.
Fionna shrugged as she rinsed the soap off, "Why'd I want to kiss you anyway?" She asked, looking over her shoulder at him. Her eyes narrowed, "Shouldnt I wait for that right guy to come along and kiss me then?"
Marshall looked offended, "Why wouldn't you? I'm the sexy Vampire King." He scoffed, frowning at her.
"Ha.. Sexy.." She laughed as she turned around to face him. "Got anymore jokes for me Mr. Sexy Vampire King?" She mocked.
He floated in front of her, "Common Fi, just one!" He pleaded her, giving a puppy dog look. "It'll be quick, I promise."
Fionna continued to blush, she couldnt believe she was actually thinking this hard about this. "I don't know..." She murmured, eyes lowering down to the floor. What if she regretted it? Marshall was her friend, what happened if this messed up their relationship like she saw in those movies?
"Just close your eyes, it'll be quick. Or do you want it long and romantic?" Marshall hummed, leaning so close that she could actually feel his breath on her face. The warmth tickled her skin, she turned her face away.
She frowned and pushed him away, "Alright Marshall, it's time for you to go home." She told him, not wanting to hear anymore of his babbling about stupid kisses. "Go on..."
"No."
Fionna looked at him and laughed, "What?"
He crossed his arms, "I'm not leaving."
"Well I'm going to bed," She said, passing him and up the ladder to her bedroom. Getting dressed quickly into she pajamas, she got into bed. Rolling on her side, she looked ahead of her in the darkness. She couldnt believe Marshall would suggest such a crazy thing. Her eyes closed as she felt her heart begin to pump. Biting her lip, she tried to clear her mind. She wouldnt be able to sleep if she kept the vampire on her mind like this.
"Fionna..." A voice whispered next to her ear. "Kiss me..." It comanded softly.
Her eyes shot open and she sat up quickly. Covering her ear, she glared, "Go away Marsha-" Her words came to a hault as she felt his warm hands caress her face, her voice disappeared in her throat. Her eyes fell, "Glob..." She mumbled defeatedly. Looking back up, her mouth closed. Her first kiss... Staring into his crimson eyes, she leaned forward. Her eyes slid closed as the surprisingly warm of his lips pressed closer to hers.
Her chest felt tight, she clutched Marshall's shirt in a tight fist. Moments passed, their lips seperated. Her eyes opened, her cheeks flushed. "Wow... That was-" Her words were interupted by another kiss, her eyes widened. Her skin felt hot, her heart wouldnt stop hammering in her chest. Marshall tugged her bunny ear'd hat off before tangling his digits in her blond hair. Her breath cut short, she couldnt breathe. Pulling away, she inhaled. "M-Marshall!"
Marshall hoovered over her, his eyes staring deep into hers. "Guess I was wrong Fi, kissing isnt dull." He smiled at her reddened state. "Can I kiss you again?" He asked, wanting permision this time.
Fionna bit her lip, she knew she shouldnt. Lifting her hands, she lightly cupped his face. "Okay..." She murmured before feeling the warmth of his lips on hers once more.
