Elizabeth continued her slow walk forward, her smile nearly splitting into a grin.
"Yo-ho yo-ho, a pirate's life for me!" Her son stared out onto the horizon where his father's ship was approaching. The ship that carried the man he was about to meet for the first time.
But Elizabeth Turner was not smiling for that. She was smiling because of the song her son was singing, and because the man who had been like a father to him was desperately running away behind her.
Bloody girl, Jack snapped to himself. He nearly fell over as he scrambled across the beach to his small boat. Not telling me bloody Will is coming back today. The moment he was standing in his ship and slowly gliding out to deeper waters, he started to laugh. Here he was, notorious pirate running away from 'his' girl in a desperate attempt not to be caught by her husband. At least that part sounded piratey.

-It was either this, or him hiding in a bush and hoping not to be heard. Someone just mentioned this idea during a covnersation, and I found it highly amusing, so I wrote about it.
