Perfect

Summary: "I'm not perfect, but I keep trying, cause that's what I said I would do from the start." Elijah secretly loves Rose. He always has. But, he's not perfect, nor is he the apologetic type. But, he's working on it. Rose/Elijah. One-shot. Not a songfic, but instead based on the song "Perfect' by Hedley. I think it fits their relationship, and it goes with my story.

AN: Yes, before you say anything, I know this couple is super messed up. But, please just give them a try? They're both amazing characters, and they look awesome together. And Elijah is such a BAMF. But, in this you see a different side of him.

Perfect

I'm not perfect, but I keep trying 'Cause that's what I said I would do from the start I'm not alive if I'm lonely, so please don't leave Was it something I said or just my personality?

-"Perfect", Hedley

Elijah wasn't a total monster like he made himself out to be. Well, he supposed he could be at times. But, the one thing that made him not a monster was the fact that he loved. He loved one Rosemarie "Rose". Ever since who knows when, he'd liked her. But, she was so close to Trevor. Elijah came to the conclusion that if he got Trevor out of the way, he'd have a better chance.

As soon as he walked into that little armpit of a house, in the middle of nowhere, she'd treated him like royalty.

She's afraid of me, he quickly realized. Normally, if it was anyone else, the fact would have pleased him greatly and he would've relished the reaction. But, since it was Rose, it didn't please him at all. He wanted to show her his other side, but he didn't know how she would have reacted. His mission was to kill Trevor so Rose would be his.

He soon found out that he was dreadfully wrong. As soon as he killed Trevor, Rose had started to sob, partly because of outrage and partly because of sadness.

"You…" he remembered her saying, with such loathing that it made him cringe inwardly. It was then that he knew that any chance he had of being with her had gone out the window, and he was the only one to blame. He wanted to tell her he was sorry, comfort her and beg for her forgiveness. But, deep down, he knew that she wouldn't accept it. Why would she? If it was reversed, he wouldn't forgive her.

He knew he wasn't the nicest, and he didn't have the cleanest track record. But, he was working on both things. One night, when she was sleeping in the boarding house, he snuck in. His deal with Elena was still fresh in his mind. She looked so peaceful. Her breathing was slow and even, her hair was only slightly mussed. She was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. Then, he noticed something that horrified him. There, on her shoulder/ upper back was a werewolf bite. It was infected, badly. Speeding silently over, he bent down and kissed her forehead. "I'll always love you, Rose." he whispered. Then, he sped off. A thought hit him as he was running. He could help Rose. He knew the cure, after all. Then, maybe just maybe she'd see. He may not have been perfect, but he was working on it. And getting better as well.

AN: D'awww, these two are so cute! I am not even kidding. I used to hate them as a couple, but now I see that they don't look half bad.
