Characters: Heracles (Greece) Ivan (Russia)
A teenage, or younger, Ivan sat in the chair and shifted his weight. He mumbled under his breath as the Greek before him pushed the paper with scribbles farther in front of him.
"Read it, Ivan, it's for your own good." Heracles smiled lightly, but his eyes showed he was tired. Teaching the Russian his alphabet was hard on the Greek's napping schedule.
"Heracles, this is stupid." the Russian grabbed the paper, and crumbled it. He was shocked by the look on his friend's face as he did this.
"Heracles, you okay, da?" a slight, very slight, bit of guilt took hold of Ivan.
Heracles shook his head then spoke calmly "Good character is not formed in a week or a month. It is created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good character. Heraclitus said this. I think Ivan it symbolizes you." Heracles' heavy smile, coughed when he saw Ivan's look of dumbfound.
Ivan started at the paper, and smiled. "I do this you take that back, da? Turning good is bad for my reputation."
Heracles laughed and nodded, "Of course. And think as it this way Ivan, knowledge is the greatest step taken by all dictators of the world."
"Like Alexander "the great", da?" Ivan teased.
Heracles frowned, but said, "Yes, even him."

Author note: Just a little something, and yes a Greek philosopher did make, or invented, the Russian alphabet, or Cyrillic.
