Journal Entry 1024
'Day seven hundred and two since he last appeared. The world may have forgotten what he has done time and time again, but despite the blurry photos, and different faces I know it's him. The Doctor. Yesterday the United Armies of the Americas fell, and it's only a matter of days before the Wall of Britain falls.
After the last time my father and I helped The Doctor, he promised he was coming back for me. I thought he would take me to see the universe. I'm alone and waiting but I still have hope. He always saves us! With that boyish smile, humor of a court jester, and those eyes. Those cold eyes with the weight of a thousand years behind them. And I will take my last breath believing in the mad man and his blue box. As I enter these words, the familiar hum of the ships cascade from above as they break cloud cover. Then again it wouldn't be Christmas without some sort of invasion. The sirens are beginning to sound so I should take cover. Until next time, alonzi.'
With the press of a button the glow of his wrist piece disappears and the slightly plump ginger boy, just shy of his eighteenth birthday stands from the swings and heads to the bunker door.
"You really think I forgot you?", croaked a voice from behind him.
Fast as lighting the boy spins on his heals, to confront an unfamiliar face. A lopsided grin spread from ear to ear on the young strangers face. The boy had never seen this face before, but the eyes were the same. The eyes were always the same, reflecting so much pain, and strength.
"Of course not", the boy said trying to sound as casual as possible, "but you always have to make an entrance."
"Look! Finally ginger!", the strange young man said messing his own hair about, and the boy couldn't resist to laugh with this man. Every time this strange young man changed, it was like he was reunited with a long lost friend or that crazy uncle, who wasn't still quite all there.
There was an awkward pause as the man shuffles his feet a bit, "Your dad would be very proud of you."
The boy looks to the ground then to the man before him managing a, "thanks".
Beneath them the earth shakes, as an attack from the ships above start on the near by country side.
"Looks like we've got work to do. Come on Stormy!", The Doctor says as he manically rushes into the open door of the T.A.R.D.I.S. with that crazy smile on his face.
Alfie grins from ear to ear, "Alonzi!"was all he could mutter as he quickly follows suit slamming that creaky blue door behind him.
