A rhythmic sound woke Carolyn up.
Tap...tap...tap...tap. She tried to block out the noise.
Tap...tap...tap...tap. She was pretty sure the noise was coming from her living room window, but she didn't know what could be making the noise.
Tap...tap...tap...tap. That was it. She ran over to the window threw it open and...
"OW!"
"Ohh I'm so sorry I didn't know you'd stick your head out."
"Well you should have thought of that before throwing rocks!" she said angrily. Mike was standing out side her house with a rock in his hand that he had been preparing to throw out her window.
"Well I just didn't thi-"
"YOU NEVER THINK MIKE!!" she yelled cutting him off. "ALL YOU DO ALL THE TIME IS NEVER THINK!!"
"Keep your voice down Carolyn!" Mike said in a loud whisper. "You might wake up your neighbors!"
"Mike!" she said in a growl, "I don't care if I wake the town; I want you to go away."
"No," Mike said grinning like the Cheshire cat. "I won't. I need to tell you something important."
"What?" she asked trying to put as much annoyance into what she said as she could.
"Deakin's gave me a better desk!" he said, sounding as though he had just been handed the world. Carolyn on the other hand was slightly more than annoyed.
"You woke me up," she said slowly, "to tell me, that you GOT A BETTER DESK?!" she was mad.
"Well yeah" She couldn't take it any more. She picked up a book that was lying on the table next to her, and threw it with all her might at Mike. It was a perfect hit. She picked up book after book and threw it at him until he finally ran away.
"Goodnight Mike," she yelled off into the darkness before shutting the window, and going back to bed.
