Chapter 1:
There he was Lucas Scott author of the best-seller "An Unkindness of Ravens". He sat in front of his computer staring at his blank screen as if words would magically appear. Irritated at his writers' block he sat down on his bed and picked up the open copy of his book and his eyes fell onto a line that he had spent so long writing. "She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday. I'm not sure she even knows it." He had spent hours searching for the perfect way to describe the girl who had made him the man he was now.
The thought of high school, and his past relationships brought up so many emotions and memories that he thought he had buried.
"I'm the guy for you Brooke Davis."
"The one I want standing next to me when all my dreams come true, it's you."
"I love you too, Pretty Girl."
"In four years we're all going to be back here."
He placed the book back in its original place and began pacing. He needed to get out of there. He grabbed his coat with a last look at his still sound-asleep girlfriend, Lindsay, and quietly left the house and walked. He wasn't sure where he was headed but he just kept walking. He past by a book-store and stopped as he passed by a magazine with the girl he was just thinking of on the cover. Luke bought a copy and held onto it as he walked to the Rivercourt, sat down, and began reading. There was an exclusive interview with the Clothes over Bro's fashion designer Brooke Davis and Luke couldn't help but smile as he read her polite answers. He turned the page and found himself staring at 6 pictures of Brooke Davis' photo shoot pictures. She was still wearing that same dimpled smile, but the sparkle in her eyes weren't there anymore. He sat there for an hour before he finally composed himself and walked back home, his mind clearer than when he had left.
