Hey this is my first story so I apologise if it isn't very good. It's quite short as I wanted you guys opinions to see if it was worth carrying on. Please review it would be greatly appreciated.
Chapter 1
I scanned the room, eyeing the crooked door across the hall; expecting a vampire to come charging through, snarling and red-eyed. I hated-despised those pitiful being, there very existence disgusted me. They were the worst, the most sinful; draining the blood from innocents and then leaving them dead or dying. How disgraceful. So me and a few other powerful families' dedicated our soul into wiping clean the earth of these creatures. It was our promise to protect humanity from these bloodthirsty monsters, and I plan and keeping it.
Morgan pulled out a handkerchief and attempted and at removing the blood splattered on her face, she glanced at me and smile played on it. "so it looks like we have cleared this hotel of all vampires, apart from the basement. Should I-" I shook my head, cutting her off, she'd done enough and dark circles began to form under her strained eyes. She'd been overworked just like everyone else. "no, its fine, Ryder and I can check it out" I suggested. Ryder nodded and everyone else agreed planning to start exiting as soon as we had returned. "you need us, just call. Please" Morgan reassured. I smiled and we shared a short sweet kiss before me and Ryder headed towards the basement.
It was cold, a thick layer of dust hung in the air and I spluttered inhaling it. Ryder also seemed uncomfortable and pretty on edge to, showed through his quick short breathes. "dude, calm down" I said patting him lightly on the back. A slight smile formed on his lips but a loud bang caught both us both off guard as a hoard of vampires gathered around us. I couldn't help but smirk, id fought off more than this alone, it'd be easy. Sliding out my silver infused sake, a vampire used inhuman speed to attack but I quickly ducked and used a pistol loaded with holy water on its leg, disabling it. After that it was simple, I embedded the stake into its heart and watched the skin turn to a grey, ash. We killed the other vampires easily, though we were young, both 18; we were the most skilled in our class, top of our game. So I knew nothing would be much of a challenge.
We finished our check and were just about to exit the basement until hands grabbed a hold of my neck pulling me. I froze up afraid of what had just grabbed, it was something dangerous, something I thought I would never see.
*Ryder's POV*
Charlie was afraid, I could see him shaking and his eyes were wide and full of fear. I knew what it was, the thing standing just metres away, my body froze unable to move. I'm sorry Charlie.
