Hey everyone. This is my first One Tree Hill fic, or oneshot actually, so dont judge me! Anyways, I hope you like it. It's supposed to happen exactly after episode 1 of season 4.
Mistakes and Mixed Messages
"I can't see a thing, it's so dark! Rachel? Where are you?" Asked Bevin, looking around in the dark, tripping here and there. Rachel caught her hand and said, "Shush. I'm right here. And there's the house!"
Bevin looked up at the house and said, "Why are we doing this again?" Rachel rolled her eyes and said, "Damn it Bevin. How many times do I have to tell you? It's cause I feel guilty, and we like Brooke way more than Peyton." Bevin made a concerned expression and said, "But I like Peyton too!" Rachel flicked her on the head and said, "No Bevin, you like Skills." Bevin smiled and said, "Oh yeah. I forgot about him."
Rachel sighed in irritation and fished out two cardboard boxes from her bag, handing one of them to Bevin. As soon as Bevin saw the boxes, she again looked worried and said, "What if it's not the right house?" Rachel paused for a second, trying to remember, and then said, "Nope, I'm sure it's the right one. Brooke did say it was the fourth house on the street."
Bevin opened the box, and said, "But there are 8 houses on the street. How do you know if it's the fourth from the right, or from the left?" Rachel was losing her patience and said, "I just do Bevin! Now stop arguing!" Bevin looked disappointed and took out an egg and looked at Rachel. "My aim isn't that good."
Rachel looked at the house and said, "Why God? Why did I pick Bevin? What did I do to deserve this?" Bevin looked up to the sky and said, "Well, you did kinda make Nathan's uncle drive the car off the bridge, not to mention you broke Mouth's heart, and tried to seduce Lucas and…" Rachel cut her off in the middle and said, "Just shut up, will you? The lights are out. She must be sleeping. We'll just throw as many as we can, and make a run for it. Understood?"
Bevin nodded and smiled, "Understood."
They both stood up and looked at each other, then to the house. They aimed and started throwing the eggs, quickly and noisily. Suddenly, the lights in one of the room switched on, and a girl looked out, only to be hit by an egg, correctly aimed by Bevin. "Oh my god, I hit her in the face!" Screamed Bevin, happily. Rachel smiled too at first, but then looked at the girl, and her smile faded. "Bevin, I think we might have got the wrong…"
But before she could say anything more, Peyton walked outside from the neighboring house and said, "Bevin? Rachel? What in the world are you guys doing here?" Bevin looked at Rachel and said, "I so told you it was the wrong house." Rachel smiled nervously, looking at the girl who Bevin had egged, and she ran.
The girl from the window screamed curses at Bevin, and started throwing cosmetics to where she was standing. Bevin in a quick impulse took one of the eggs and threw it at Peyton, hitting her right in the head. Lucas now ran outside from Peyton's house, and Bevin looked at him and said, "Hey Luke. Brooke says 'hi'. Uh... I gotta go."
She dropped the eggs and ran for dear life, thinking about what she going to eat for dinner.
