Mike stood at the door of the nursery, smiling as he watched Katie whisper to baby Mikey. Her pink shirts stood out against the light blues in the room.

"What are you doing princess?"

"I'm talking to Mikey, daddy," her tone and looked showing him it should have been obvious.

"Ah, what are you talking about?"

She held her arms out, gesturing for him to come pick her up. He walked over and scooped her up against him.

"We talk about lots of stuff, like candy, and the zoo, and the big wheel. And I told him about going under water and mommy being scared of the big wheel."

He had to laugh at the picture in his mind of his wife's face when they'd gotten to the top of the Ferris wheel.

"Yeah, mommy really doesn't like the big wheel."

"It's too high up," said a voice from behind them.

"We told you, mommy we'll take care of you," Katie shook her head at hr mother's forgetfulness. Mike smiled and carried Katie over to the door, before kissing his wife gently. Katie scrunched up her nose, a look of disgust on her face.

"How comes you guys are always kissy?"

"Well, that's what mommy and daddies do when they love each other. One day, when you are old enough, and in love, you'll like kissing boys too." Her mother said kissing her nose, and grinning.

"But not until daddy is senile," Mike interjected.

"That's gross mommy, besides I'm going to marry daddy," her hands went to her hips. They both laughed, laughing harder at the disgusted look Katie shot them.

"Daddy and mommy are already married and daddy would be too old," he said.

"I don't care," she folded her little arms over her chest.

"Whatever you say, princess. Now it's time for your nap." They moved across the hallway to her room. He got Katie tucked in and handed over her bunny smiling down at her. He gave her a kiss before moving to let her mother kiss her goodnight. They stepped out into the hallway, pulling the door most of the way closed.

"She gets that from you," he said.

"No she doesn't," she shook her head.

"Whatever you say," he grinned.
