Mornings with Haru
"Haru, I just told you we need to go!"
Makoto said, while he set a pair of chopsticks and a bottle of soy sauce on the table.
"Rei and Nagisa are waiting for us."
He then took out a bowl and put steaming rice on it, and even cracked raw egg on top!
"If we miss the train, we're gonna be late!"
He set it all nicely around the mackerel Haru had just grilled. And he was proud of his work.
"We have to get going right now."
When Haru sat down, he patted him on the head. Haru just looked up at him and blinked. And blinked. Not giving it any more thought, he just turned to his breakfast and said in his ever-quiet voice "Itadakimasu" before digging in.
"You won't have time to… Eh?"
Upon realizing what he had all done out of habit, Makoto wanted to shoot himself.
