Leslie Burke was building a makeshift raft somewhere very far away from home. She placed it on the river creek and sailed back where she drowned and got carried away after breaking the swing rope. Next to her on the raft was a cartoon drawing of herself framed on a wooden toy boat. Many hours later, she finally arrived where the rope was near her home. She then picked up the wooden toy boat framing the cartoon drawing of herself and walked back to her house. She placed the drawing on her desk and went straight to Jess Aarons' house. "Jess! Are you here?" Leslie shouted looking around. His relatives weren't there either but the front door was unlocked and open in case friendly neighbors want to stop by. "I'm back," she stated. "Hello?" Leslie greeted curiously. She continued looking around until she saw a letter on the counter. emDear friendly neighbor(s), our kids Jess Aarons and his three sisters are staying after school today and we are working extra shifts. Jess and his three sisters should be back before us as soon as possible. Thank you. Sincerely, the Aarons family. /emLeslie then decided to open the fridge and reheated some leftover macaroni and cheese Jess promised to make for her before she was pronounced dead by surprise. She was dirty from head to toe thanks to the river creek's water. From a distance, footsteps occurred and grew louder as it got closer to the front porch. It was Jess. When he came to the kitchen and dining room, he couldn't believe who he saw. "Leslie? Oh my god! You actually woke up from your death?!" Jess exclaimed. "No. I just got carried away in the river after the rope broke so I built a raft to sail back," Leslie confirmed. Jess then washed his hands in the kitchen sink after calling Leslie smart and grabbed a leftover meal from the fridge and simply ate next to her. "So what were y'all doing while I was gone for such a long time?" Leslie asked after swallowing a spoonful of mac and cheese. "We had a memorial gathering at your house thinking that you died," Jess responded. "How did you think I died?" Leslie questioned wiping her mouth. "My dad said you drowned and hit your head after the rope broke," Jess explained. The two were done eating so they decided to go to the living room and watch TV. While doing so, Jess called the police and told them that Leslie was back alive. Jess letted Leslie take a shower in his bathroom and changed into new clothes that she brought with her from her house. The next day, Leslie was introduced to the class in school after Jess's parents noticed her when they came home. "Boys and girls, please welcome back Leslie Burke. I know some of you are surprised and think she rose from the dead but you are wrong. There was just a mistake in the investigation by police. Now Leslie, tell us how you came back," Ms. Meyers spoke. "After the swinging rope broke, I fell into the river creek and I got carried away so I built a raft to sail back," Leslie narrated. "Thank you, Leslie. You may now take your seat," Ms. Meyers stated. After Ms. Meyers strict class session, it was time for music class with Ms. Edmond. She and the students sang Extreme's More Than Words after some theory lessons.
