Chapter 1 Alexia Ashford's Release

The Racoon City survivor Claire Redfield arrived at Harvardville Airport to meet Alexia Ashford and two people working for Derek C Simmons (a friend and carer to Sherry). Thinking of Sherry Birkin made Claire smile as Sherry took her in as a sister/mother figure. She was grateful to Simmons for looking after Sherry and securing the release of Alexia Ashford. He had become a friend over the years he looked after Sherry, so it was no problem for him to help her in her quest in freeing the unjustly locked up Alexia Ashford. She had encountered Alexia Ashford around three months after the destruction of Raccoon City when she ended up at Umbrella's Antarctic Base after exploring Umbrella's Rockfort Island Facility looking for her brother Chris. She alongside a Steve Burnside had been terrorized by her demented brother Alfred before Steve managed to mortally wound the man. They tracked him down after Claire dealt with a mutated monster known as Nosferatu. He had fled to where Alexia was being held in cryogenic suspension. She suspected Alexia's missing father, Doctor Alexander Ashford of being responsible for this after finding out Alexia had been inflected with something called the t-Veronica Virus before she was placed inside. Alexia of course had been devastated to see her brother died in front of her as soon as she woke up which broke Claire's heart when she saw it. So, Claire had intermediately rushed over to embrace the poor girl. She had stiffened at first obliviously not having to used being hugged before melting into the embrace. Steve however had been unmoved, and she had ignored the hate and jealousy she seen in his eyes at the time. She was drawn from her thoughts by the news on the nearby television screen as she sat down. A News Reporter was saying, "It has been a been almost a year since President Graham's daughter had been saved from a cult known as Los Iluminados and now the president's close adviser Adam Benford has finally released statements regarding the operation that resulted in the destruction of the cult to the public. Join us in our special news documentary, Los Iluminados: The Parasite Behind The Cult where we will discuss the truth behind this horrid cult. However, today's top stories; The Republic of Bajirib has a new President since General Miguel Grandé has successful won the presidential election in a landslide victory. In other news, new evidence had suddenly come to light revealing the involvement of Senator Ron Davis in the deployment of the tactical nuke that destroyed Racoon City. Meanwhile WilPharma continues to lobby against Terrasave's blocking the deployment of the t-Vaccine." Claire then ignored the rest of whatever the reporter said. The mention of Racoon City and t-Vaccine reminded her of all the hard work that she and others had done to reveal the secrets of Umbrella to the public. Even with the fall of Umbrella, there was still threats in the form of Neo Umbrella and the now defunct Los Iluminados so organizations like Terrasave and The Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) were created to combat them. WilPharma seemed to good to be true with their so called vaccine had been ready to deploy as soon as an incident in India (an attack by Neo Umbrella) occurred which was why she had talked with Simmons, who seemed have a good amount influence, with her concerns. He thought about it and then agreed with her. So both of them managed to convince Terrasave to block WilPharma's efforts in releasing the vaccine. She shook her head not wanting to think about something she already dealt with. Her eyes lit up as she spotted the still beautiful Alexia and the two men escorting her heading towards her. Alexia was looking around with uneasiness and anxiety. Not used to so many people Claire thought since having been in cryogenic suspension for god knows how many years, then she had been quickly arrested for 'her crimes' and sent into solitary confinement due to her condition meaning that she hasn't interacted with many people.

Claire smiled brightly and called out, "Alexia." She saw the change in the woman intermediately. A childlike smile appeared on her face and her eye practically lit up with glee at seeing her for the first time in years. Alexia rushed forward and crushed Claire in a hug breaking her hand cuffs in the process. Alexia sighed with contentment. Claire rubbed Alexia's back.

"Miss Redfield." One of Alexia's handlers said looked at Alexia with disgust and more likely thinking why a monster like Alexia had been freed. Claire's eyes narrowed as she decoded the man's thought. Alexia was a sweet girl and not a monster as proved from the fact Alexia would of killed her and Steve as soon as her brother was killed without remorse if she was a monster. Instead she allowed Claire to escort her off the island without much protest and went without a fight with The BSSA where she was then locked up.

She did not say anything apart from, "Yes." Knowing they won't listen.

"We are releasing Miss Alexia Ashford into your care." He stated before both he and his partner headed towards the exit not that Claire cared for them as her attention was on Alexia. They stood there for a little while. They were interrupted by a charming looking man crashing into them.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." The charming man said with an English accent, "I'm Frederic Downing." He held his hand out and gave a charming smile.

Claire shook it and said, "Claire Redfield and this is Alexia Ashford." Frederic's eyes flashed with interest at hearing Alexia Ashford. Alexia however had a titled her head and her face held a frown like she was try to remember something. Claire found it adorable.

"Alexia Ashford as in the child prodigy." Frederic exclaimed.

"The very one." Claire confirmed. Frederic flashed another charming smile and Claire did not notice Alexia face darken.

"Well It was nice bumping into you Claire." Frederic said pulling out a card from his pocket, "But I am running late. Call me." He disappeared into the crowd heading to where every he had been heading. Claire only saw WilPharma logo on the card before Alexia snatched it and burnt it to a crisp. Claire sighed as another man that she found interesting was dodgy if he was involved with WilPharma. Even Steve had been untrustworthy in the end. Claire grabbed Alexia's hand and made her way towards the exit.
