Entry for Bonesology!
Angela took one last look at the loft that she had called home for almost five years. Jack had just taken the last box down to the moving van, and everyone was waiting for her, but she wanted just five more minutes to remember the good times here. Wandering from the doorway she entered the kitchen...
She had just gotten home from work, it had been a long and difficult day, the team had been working on finding the killer of a six year old boy. It had been one of the hardest days she had ever had, watching the Angelator recreate the action of the grown man crushing that boys chest...she had just about started crying. Walking into the kitchen she saw the light on her answering machine blinking. Reaching over, she pressed the play button.
"Hey Baby Girl, its dad here, I know that you are having a bad day, so look in the freezer. And remember, you saved a life today by helping find that asshole. Love you.
Looking in the freezer, she got a small grin on her face, her dad had gotten a pint of her favourite ice cream. Reaching in she grabbed the New York Super Fudge Chuck ice cream and a spoon, climbed onto the counter and polished off half of it...
Leaving the kitchen, she wandered into the area that had housed her painting studio. So many memories crowded her mind, but one stuck out more than any others...
Brennan had just agreed to model for her latest show. Angela was excited, this was the first time that she had gotten her to agree, although she was pretty sure that it was because Booth had goaded her into it, but either way, she was happy. Brennan was posed laying on her back but looking at Angela, wearing a long flowing dress, her hair a mess of tangled curls, makeup smokey and seductive one leg bent to show off the skin to her upper thigh, Angela never thought she looked better. As she started to paint, the two best friends began to talk. About halfway through there was a knock at the door, and after yelling 'come in' none other that Agent Sexy Body came in. The moment he saw Brennan, or Bones, his eyes went big, his mouth gaped open and he began to stutter. The look in his eyes made it clear to Angela that not only did Booth want her, he was also in love with her. Angela smiled, now if only Brennan could understand that look...
Going from the alcove that was her studio, she entered the main part of the loft, where her living room was. Looking at the still visible scuff marks on the floor in the space between where the TV had been and where her couch was, her mind wandered to yet another memory...
She and Jack had just started dating, and he had come over for a movie night. After popping some popcorn and grabbing their drinks, they made their way to the living room. She popped in 'Singin in the Rain' and sat down next to Jack. When the movie got to the point where Gene Kelly started his hit song, Jack got up and began to dance along, knowing all the steps, without even having to look at the TV. Laughing at his antics, and not wanting to be shown up, Angela also got to her feet and began to tap in time right beside him. By the end of the dance, they were both laughing and smiling and out of breath. That was when she realized that she was in love with him...
She was startled out of her reminiscence by Jack softly kissing her shoulder.
"Hey, you ready to go? The others were getting worried." He asked her with a gentle voice.
"Sure Jack, let's go home and make lots of new, amazing memories together." she replied.
As she followed him out, she looked back one more time as she closed the door knowing that while the adventures in her old home were amazing and never to be forgotten, she knew that the future held more promise than she could ever imagine.
