It was a cold morning in Thunderclan territory, a few birds called out to one another. In the nursery, a small kit was coughing. "Hush now, Hollykit. You'll wake everyone up. Let's go to Leafpool."A she-cat said, helping Hollykit to her paws.

The she-cat tapped her with her tail, helping her move to the den where Leafpool was. "Leafpool?" She called out into the rocky tunnel. A small form bursted out of the shadows. "Yes, Squirrelflight?" Squirrelflight nudged forth Hollykit, who sucked up a glob of snot from her nose. Leafpool stared at her in horror, then without another word, she whisked down the tunnel and came back with some herbs.

She crushed them together, handing the mixture to Holykit. She licked it up feebly, and sneezed out a few particles. Leafpool calmed down a bit, and looked to Squirrelflight. "Give Hollykit her own prey, so the other two won't get sick." Leafpool mewed, and Squirrelflight nodded.

"Best of luck to you, sister, for when the elders wake up." The queen chuckled, rounding up Hollykit. "Yeah, luck." Leafpool faked a smile, then turned around and let out a sigh.

Later that day, the dawn patrol came back with food. Squirrelflight picked up three pieces of prey, one for her, one for her sons, and one scrawny mouse for Hollykit, just like she was suppose to do. "Mom!" One of the boys cried, "It's not fair that Hollykit gets her own piece!" The other kit, a blind one, whined along. Squirrelflight put her tail to their mouths. "She has to have her own, or you will get sick."

The two sons shut up, looked at eachother, and smirked. "You thinking what I'm thinking, Jaykit?" the bigger brother said. "Yep, Lionkit."

At dinner, the two looked at eachother, then they had outbursts of coughs. "Uh oh." Squirrelflight said. "Hollykit got you two sick, I guess? Well I have to use the technique my sister told me to use." This time the she-cat got four different pieces of prey. They all ate.

The next morning, the two boys had bellyaches. "Cmon, Lionkit! Play with me!" The healthy, happy Hollykit whined.

Moral: Don't take advantages of other's downs.
