Kagome and Inuyasha had traveled back to her time to help her grandfather. This was a busy time of year for the shrine due to tourist season and everyone in the family pitched in. It was after hours; time for cleaning up, and the young couple was outside cleaning the grounds. Inuyasha was picking up trash while Kagome was sweeping the walkways, listening to her iPod. Totally engrossed in her music, she didn't notice the strange, white packet her hanyou had found. Eyeing the label he realized the packet contained sugar. Looking over at Kagome a sneaky grin crept across his face.
Tucking the sugar packet in his sleeve and making sure the coast was clear, Inuyasha strode up to Kagome, grabbed her shoulders and spun her around to face him. Squeaking in surprise she dropped her boom, staring wide-eyed. He reached up, swept her hair from the side of her neck, and gave it a slow, lingering lick. Her head lolled to the side, her breath catching in her throat.
Inuyasha immediately let Kagome go and pulled the sugar packet from his sleeve. Tearing it open, he poured it into his mouth. She looked at him oddly while he seemed to contemplate over the taste of the sweetener.
Smiling broadly Inuyasha said to her, "Just as I thought. It's not nearly as sweet." With a wink he went back to his work leaving Kagome to stare after him.
