So Far From Human

A SuperWho Castiel and Rose Tyler Bromance Fanfiction

The TARDIS jolted to a halt, causing her three passengers to grab hold of the control panel. Even the trench coat wearing angel who had perfect balance and body posture.

"I still find it difficult to travel in such a way." Castiel explained to his friends.

"Oh don't be like that, Cas!" smiled the Doctor from the opposite side of the panel. "You don't see Rose complaining about it!"

The Doctor and Cas' young, blonde friend grinned at the daily banter that she couldn't help but love to live with.

"Only because I've been doing it long enough," laughed Rose as she and the boys were flung around the TARDIS. "but I agree with Cas, the first few times can make you feel funny."

As the TARDIS froze, the Doctor sprang towards the doors, pulling on his old coat as he did.

"Just popping out for some vinegar!" he said loudly to his companions. He had mentioned back in ancient Rome that he needed to stock up on vinegar in case of a Slitheen invasion. "Stay here-won't be long!"

Cas and Rose stood, staring at the doors for a few seconds before Cas spoke up.

"I still don't understand how a sour tasting liquid, containing acetic acid can lead to the destruction of a being from an alien world."

Rose couldn't help but smile. Since joined Castiel joined Rose and the Doctor, their adventures had definitely changed for the better.

"I stopped asking questions a long time ago." Castiel smiled at Rose's statement. "Funny that. When I first started travelling with the Doctor, I didn't understand anything. Now…it just feels…right. It's like…I'm more than human….I'm like him."

Cas paused for a moment, his eyes squinted as if he were in deep thought.

"I…think I understand." His voice was as sincere as his eyes. "Before meeting you and the Doctor, I didn't believe in anything other than heaven. Now I feel different from angels, I feel so much more than they are. It's as if I belong here in the TARDIS with you and the Doctor."

Rose smiled at Cas as he continued. "Thank you, Rose."

"For what?"

"For showing me that there's more than what I already know…and for being my friend."

Cas and Rose smiled at each other in silence. It was like they were trying to read each other's minds. Before Rose could say anything back to Castiel, the TARDIS doors flew open and in ran the Doctor with three plastic bags in his hands.

"Alright-y then!" He threw the bags on the floor, and shrugged off his coat before flicking switches and pushing buttons on the control panel. "Fancy a trip to Paris?-I've not been for ages!-maybe America, Cas?-or how about a surprise?-ALLONS-Y!"
