It was a bright sunny day in Tulsa as Shane Murphy walked down the street. She had two things on her mind. One was a nice cold soda. And the other was the guy that she would be buying said soda from. Sodapop Curtis.

To say it was love at first sight for her was an understatement. Shane was in love with being in love. Which most people will tell is a very bad way to begin a relationship. But not to Shane.

She smiled to herself as she walked into the DX Station that Soda and his friend Steve worked at. Steve it appeared was working out back with the cars today. Just her luck she thought as she picked up her soda of choice.

Just then Steve's girl Evie walked over to her. "Hey," she said. "Soda wants you wait up for him after work. He has something he wants to tell you."

"Ok," Shane answered. She then walked over to Soda to pay for her drink.

"It's on the house," said Soda with a crooked smile on his handsome face.

"Thank you."

Shane walked out to the picnic table area and sat down to wait for Soda. A few minutes later Steve walked out done for the day.

"Evie tell you Soda wanted to talk to you about something?" he asked.

"Sure," Shane said. "Why you ask?"

"Evie can be a little scatter brained at times and forget to tell people things. Like last night she forgot to tell I left my wallet at Buck's. I'm headed there right now to pick it."

Shane laughed at that. Evie could be scatter brained like that. She had known Soda, Steve, and Evie since grade school. She had even known Soda's ex-girlfriend Sandy that long too. Although she never liked Sandy for Soda.

"See you later then," Shane called after Steve's retreating back.

He waved back at her. She went back to waiting which didn't take that long. She was only waiting for another half hour. Then Soda walked up to the table she was sitting at.

"Hey Shane," said Soda sitting down next to her placing another can soda in front of her. Then taking a sip of his own.

"Hey Soda," said Shane. "How was work today?"

"It was the same old same. But that's good considering I love what I do. How was your day?"

"It was good. Evie said you wanted to talk to me about something. What's up?"

"Well, you know how Sandy and me have been broken up for about a year. Right?"

"Yeah."

"Well I've been thinking. Maybe you'd sort of want to be my girlfriend Shane? If you don't want to that's ok too."

"I'd love to Soda," Shane said before quickly pressing her lips to his.

Soda kissed her back. After they broke the kiss Soda got. "We better go tell my brothers."

They walked off hand in hand together laughing about a joke Soda just told.
