The Phantom's Angel
Summary: No one really knows the true past of Erik Destler, the Phantom of the Opera- not even Madam Giry; she only knows from her encounter about aiding him after he killed the Ringmaster of the circus he was sold to. But when a face from his past comes to the Opera house with secrets of her own; how would the Phantom's Christine fit into his world now that his first Angel of Music has come back for one final confrontation?
A/N:This is a mash up of Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera- also with songs and maybe scenes thrown into it from Love Never Dies. Okay…. On with the story!
Chapter One: Ten Long Years
Opera Popularie, Paris, France 1890
The Phantom of the Opera was at work, making sweet musical tunes that filled throughout his darkened lair beneath the Opera Popularie House; it was time that his pupil- Christine Daae steps forth into the spotlight; the managers had enough of La Carlotta's demanding orders they were secretly looking for a new replacement but none wanted to over throw Carlotta, knowing about her anger issues from the past.
He sighed, he knew of one woman besides Madame Giry that could stand up to the big toad; his beloved Fantine, the Gypsy girl he fell in love with at the camp.
The very same girl who saw the man beneath the scarred face of the monster everyone else saw, a small sob escape from him as he remembered the night that everything went wrong.
In sheer anger he struck Fantine which resulted in the Ringmaster, her father beating him to a bloody pulp and he in returned killed him right in front of Fantine; she told him to leave- to run for she knew the penalties of killing a man in cold blood.
She had a singing voice that could match Christine's voice any day, but he knew that she was gone- lost and gone. It was ten years ago.
He made a dud note on the organ which echoed throughout the cave; he lightly snarled as he ripped the music sheets up.
Ten long years In my mind My Fantine, my Fantine
Living a mere facade of life
Ten long years
Wasting my time on smoke and noise
I hear melodies pure and unearthly
But I find
I can't give them a voice without you
Lost and gone, lost and gone
He looked up from the organ keys, towards a small painting that he did of Fantine- her soft tanned skin, dark brunette hair and light, brown eyes.
The day starts Night steals in pacing the floor And weeks pass
The day ends
Time crawls by
The moments creep
Yet I can't bear to sleep
'Til I hear you sing
And months pass
Seasons fly
He grabbed the painting and lightly touched her face, as tears started to form at his eyes, sliding down his cheeks and dropping onto her painted face.
Still you don't walk through the door And sometimes at night time And years come Still I ache down to the core And music, your music
And in a haze
I count the silent days
'Til I hear you sing once more
I dream that you are there
But wake holding nothing
But the empty air
And years go
Time runs dry
My broken soul
Can't be alive and whole
'Til I hear you sing once more
It teases at my ear
I turn and it fades away
And you're not here
He turned back towards the organ and the torn music sheets, he sighed as he knew that he needed to put the past behind him and focused on Christine- his Angel of Music.
Let hopes pass Without you, what are they for?
Let dreams pass
Let them die
I'll always feel
No more than halfway real
'Til I hear you sing once more!
