"Don't you fret, M'sieur Marius..."
The second Gavroche heard her gentle yet pained voice split the cold air, he turned and felt a stake go straight into his heart.
"I don't feel any pain...a little fall of rain... can hardly... hurt me now..."
Gavroche felt a hand on his shoulder. Couryferac. He looked up at the student with tearful eyes and Couryferac returned his gaze. He mouthed to him, "That's my sister..." Couryferac's eyes seemed to widen from surprise but he simply nodded, standing his ground next to Gavroche. All he could do was watch Marius hold the injured girl in his arms and wait for heartbreak to hit the young waif next to him. Gavroche took a step forward but his legs grew wobbly. He fell on his knees, tears welling in his eyes. No. This couldn't be happening. Not Eponine. Please, no.
"You're here... that's all I need to know..."
Gavroche balled his fists as he looked at the ground, tears slowly dripping from his face. Why did it have to be her!? WHY EPONINE!?
"And you will keep me safe... and you will keep me close..."
Warm tears mingled with heavy rain ran down his cheeks. Hadn't he kept her safe and close? No, he left home. He left his family. He left her. He left with nothing, only to find something, and here he is losing it again. Except this time for good.
"And rain..."
Eponine...
"Will make..."
I'm so sorry, sissy
He looked up to meet her dull, but loving, brown gaze upon him. A weak smile plastered on her face. I love you
"The flowers..."
Grow. Have fun in Heaven, sissy...
I'll see you soon...
That's all now :3
I hope that you enjoyed it! Please, please, PLEASE, read and review so I can get better. I take all criticism to heart and use it to improve. You can be negative if you like. I personally think that I went too deep in Gav's emotions way too fast.
