The First Time
Nanashi-kun
"Look at me! I'm the King of New York!" The Newsies sang on
Catty's T.V. set. Her 9th birthday party had just ended. The only
person who hadn't left was her best friend Vanessa. She smiled. She
had a great idea to get some more cake, but wanted to take Vanessa
with her...
"Hey, Vanessa? Come here, I wanna' show you something..."
Vanessa looked confused, I thought that Catty already opened all of
her presents, she thought.
"What is it Catty?" Catty reached out and grabbed her friends
hand and concentrated. The room began to feel like it had been hit by
lightening. All of the hair on the two girls body had stood on end.
After a few seconds like that the room exploded in a brilliant white
light.
The air around them felt thick enough to cut with a knife. It
was then that Catty realized how much this might scare her friend. She
looked over and saw that Vanessa had her eyes firmly closed. Just then
Vanessa opened her eyes. She looked around and screamed so loud that
the noise bounced off the walls of the time tunnel that they were
going through.
Finally they landed with a thud on Catty's living room floor,
only it was different... instead of being dark out there was sunlight
streaming through the windows. The girls looked into the next room
and saw themselves sitting around the table with a half a dozen other
girls eating cake and ice cream. Catty left her there and snuck into
the kitchen. When she came back out she was holding two pieces of cake.
Before Vanessa could say one word to Catty they were back in
the tunnel. When they emerged they were 5 blocks away from Catty's
house on someone's porch. Vanessa was in hysterics. Catty shrugged
and ate one piece of cake, and then seeing that Vanessa didn't want
hers she ate that one also.
They started walking back to Catty's house. They arrived at
the same time that Vanessa's mom did. Ms. Cleveland took her
daughter's hand and drug her the their car yelling at her the whole
way. Catty waved good-bye to her friend and walked back up to her
house thinking about what a great party it had been...
