Pokkle's POV
"Then tell me why there is a live one in the bone pile." The cat-like man asked the pig and rabbit things. They all turned towards me. I knew I was going to die, here and now. In the most terrible way, I was going to be eaten. I had only one regret. The fact that I didn't see Koori again.
She was the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. I wouldn't mind dying if her image was in my mind at the time. Koori had black hair that looked as though it was made of raven's feathers. Her blue eyes were sapphires. All blended nicely with her pale skin. You could say that I was in love with her. And you would be right. The problem is that I don't think she loves me.
The love that I feel for her could have been formed because I kept protecting her during the hunter's exam. We bonded easily. Finding out that we liked the same things. And now I was going to die with only my memories to keep me warm on my trip to heaven. I had my eyes closed tight waiting for them to kill me and death's welcoming embrace. But nothing happened for what seemed like a long time. It felt like minutes. Hours. Days. Weeks. Months. Maybe even years. But death still didn't come. I was still alive. I opened my eyes to see someone with their back to me.
As I looked up, I recognized who it was. The one that I had protected for so long was now protecting me. As I looked her over I noticed three things that were new about her. The first and second things were the gun blocking the blade that would have killed me, and the gun in her other hand. The third thing was the cold and angry look in her eyes.
"Hey Pok. You okay?" She asked not ripping her eyes off of the Chimera Ant soldiers. Of course I was okay. I mean Koori was here and with me. She was protecting me. She wasn't about to abandon me to be eaten. Koori lifted the gun that wasn't blocking the blade and just pointed it at the pig that was going to kill me. The Chimeras just laughed at her. That's when I noticed the black Nen forming outside the gun's barrel.
Koori then cocked the gun and fired the Nen. Everywhere the Nen went things disintegrated. She put the guns back into their sheathes. She turned towards me and picked me up onto her back. Instantly we were at such speeds that even the flying Chimera Ants couldn't keep up.
I was going to have to ask her about that later. By the time we were outside of the forest away from the Chimera Ants she set me down. Out of a hiding spot in a tree, she pulled out a bag of clothing for a guy. Koori handed the clothes to me and gave me a look that said 'get dressed'. That's when I remembered that I was naked and that I just got a lift on the girl of my dreams back. God I feel so embarrassed! Once I was dressed, I turned to see that she had started a fire and was cooking what appeared to be ramen.
"What kind of ramen is that?" I asked. I'm currently very nervous. Koori does nothing but ignores me. Which kind of ticks me off…a lot. She just continues to stare at the small pot while we wait for the noodles to soften. "So what happened in the few months or however long it was?" I was quite curious as to what possessed her to have her Nen ability include guns.
She just smiled, "Too much. Not enough good karma. I really don't want to talk about it." That was all she said. Something about karma and not wanting to talk about it. I continued to ask her about her abilities but she would just smile and give me cryptic answers like "The time called for it" and "I had to adapt or suffer." Hell! I wanted to know what happened to that sweet young woman I used to protect. Now she was as cold as Hell frozen over. I looked up to see Koori handing me a freshly made bowl of ramen. I took it and breathed in deeply. This small bowl would be my first meal in what seemed like months. Using my chopsticks, I picked up a few of the noodles. HOLY CRAP!!!! This is the best ramen I have ever tasted!!!!
Looking over at her I noticed that she had little tears in her eyes. They weren't running down or anything, they were just there. So I stood and walked over to her. She looked up at me and smiled a true smile. Not like the sad smiles she had been giving me earlier with her cryptic answers. Whatever happened to her was really bad. I don't know what happened. She had never talked about her family or her personal life. Only that she lived on her own and that she wanted to be a hunter to protect herself and others that she cared about. Wait a second! She protected me…that must mean that she cares about me! I have to do something!
THIRD POV
As he went towards her, she just cocked her head to the left as if to say "What in the world are you doing?" Pokkle then pulled Koori towards him and kissed her passionately (A/N: Finally! Back to the story!) The girl's eyes widened with shock and then they drifted closed. Both were blissful in their own little world. Now if only they knew Hisoka was in the background watching them kiss (A/N: *cough cough* make out *cough cough*).
The End! I actually found the beginning and Koori's information in an old binder in my closet. Hell! I don't even remember writing any of this! Well…see you crazies later! ~Rosa
